One of the great mysteries in football is how West Ham decided that Moyes was the best manager they could appoint. For me, Moyes is yesterday's man. West Ham is in trouble. They could have either appointed a manager who could save them from relegation or someone who could rebuild and give them a good team in the lomng term. Moyes is simply neither. He was appalling at Sunderland and they dropped into the championship like a stone, witjout even a hint of a fight. And in terms of rebuilding, he was just poor at the mancs and at Real Sociedad. West ham are simply doomed to the championship. Of all the managers they could have picked, why did they go for a man with a history of failure?
I agree with all of that. My main point has been that I personally wouldn't want a manager with this kind of lack of integrity at my club. Whatever Watford have done or haven't done in terms of sacking managers, their fans deserve better and it's the fans who I'm thinking of first.
whats going on there is a complete mystery to me. I thought honestly the spivs were only interested in getting their grubby paws on that stadium then selling up. Their game plan seems odd too me. Surely theres massive profits in selling up west ham to some one given its london, 60k stadium and in prem... surely the upton park properties cannot be worth so much they need to hang onto the club until they get them built? appointing moyes was a real just make do move.
Said that I didn’t want Silva, he is just another Martinez. We went for Koeman end of season, just appoint an interim bloke and then sort in summer. Moyes move to WHU has secured our PL status.
maybe.... but not quite. I agree swansea and palace look right in it to their necks but anyone of 9 clubs could join them. In fact swansea's record of surviving is such that they could surprise us all. I bet west ham are raging they pulled the trigger on bilic now cos frankly if they waited and pulis was available then he was a shoe in. For me.... they are all panicking and chasing managers in case someone else gets one that keeps them up and not them.
I think the only thing that may save Moyes from further embarrassment is the fact they've teamed him up with Stuart Pearce, surely between them they have the savvy to keep West Ham in the PL? One without the other I'm not so sure, but both together should pull things round. Should being the key word!
I honestly don't know much about Silva only what I read because I haven't seen any of his sides play so can't comment first hand on it. From what I have read, he is a good coach and was very impressive in Portugal. I don't think he's a 'keeper' though as he will be off first chance he gets. I think you need a Dyche or Howe, someone who is signed with an eye to being there long term, to build on and with. Problem as I see it is you're a club in crisis and when that happens the first thought is short term.
I think if they just go route one etc they have enough in carroll and lanzini and arunitovic to score goals and have enough at the back to defend. I think they need to pulis up the place though.
No crisis, more than enough to stay up, even with teams strengthening in management department. If it’s short term then get big Sam in.
Oh you're in crisis mate. Hovering one game away from relegation, and the longer that goes on, speaks for itself. Not to mention managerless.
We're bloody awful and even though we've taken 4 out of the last 6, it could have just as easily have been 0. We need to stop conceding soft goals and get the team well drilled positionally, as we're a mess
You need a striker. Then at least you can go for the we'll score one more than you approach. I feel for the fans atm. Maybe now would be a good time to release the new stadium plans.
agreed. Problems all over the field. I actually think Niasse is good (although maybe not so much on the build up).
