Swiss Ramble have done a review of City's finances, I bunged a couple up on the other thread, but it's quite in-depth, so I thought it deserved its own thread...
So, in summary we're being milked by the owners. But now the cash cow has come home to roost, to mix metaphors, cos they've milked too much milk and not fed the cow. So it will die.
well.....easy to use that info to slag the Allams, no doubt, for me the damning stats are the ones which show our comparative investment last season, even before the player sales in the summer. Given how close we went in the end, it seems criminal that we didn't spend a bit more to give ourselves a better chance of staying up. Worth remembering before we wheel out the pitchforks and torches once more the stat on how much they have put in, though as it's all loans with some lovely interest payments attached, they could end up making money on this gift to us
The thing that strikes me is for the massive growth in income - through PL money, through parachute payments, through player sales - the debt doesn’t *feel* like it’s falling quickly enough.
Paying less on wages so worse players than our rivals, likely the same this season in comparison to clubs we should be competing with in this tier.
I'm not sure exactly how these things work, with deals agreed ahead of the window, but the earliest this transfer could possibly have gone through was July 1st.
If you look at this tweet and the related comments there's a lot of interesting financial information
Worth following that thread actually Here’s the follow up to someone saying they’d like to know more about his comment about it holding up the sale
