I just want to get on with our season (It would be nice if the owners come up with a new contract for MS)

apparently, despite being turned down on monday they contacted the club again to day to see if they had changed their mind..bloody rude if you ask me!

It's also very infurating that all the media talk is that we deserve this, having shown no loyalty to 9 managers...lazy flipping journalism! i'm steaming!

    #endrant! ;)

He might want to leave but the club are holding firm it seems..

Until the end of the season when we either sack him or Silva quits anyway..

They now seem to think we will sack him in a few weeks because that is what the Pozzos do - we have had 3 managers in 3 years just like Everton !!

Watford manager Marco Silva had this to say on speculations about becoming Everton's new boss:

"I respect what Everton want, I respect how Watford answer. This is the only true way when you have this type of situation, the clubs need to talk. I can't control this situation."

    Analysis from today's news conference:

Marco Silva, under intense scrutiny from many different media outlets, did an excellent job of playing a straight bat and staying respectful to all parties. He is clearly wary of giving anything away and wants to emphasise his commitment to Watford at this moment. But the fact he didn't dismiss the Everton interest suggests the story still has legs. Perhaps his most telling quote, given Watford's rebuttal: "In this type of situation, the clubs need to talk".

Nothing definitive but sounds like he would be interested in talking to Everton... We've said no so he needs to put it out of his head, buckle down and do his job!

    From Sky Sports;

    SILVA TIGHT-LIPPED ON EVERTON LINK
    Watford
have made a decent start to the season but well-regarded manager Marco Silva has now been linked with the vacant Everton job.
When asked about the situation, Silva says he is focused on Sunday's game with West Ham, but did not exactly play down the speculation. What do you make of this?
"What can I tell you about this situation - I look at this situation like some players do when they perform well," said Silva.
“If somebody feels a coach performs well and tries to approach the owner of the club, for me it's one situation
“I don't know about the offer or not.
“It's a moment, in case, for the board and the owners to talk to each other about the situation.
“For me, I look at it like a normal situation really.
“I understand the question but I still talk about what is more important and for us in this moment it's the game against West Ham."

I think that's entirely reasonable and professional on his part. Much better than some heartfelt 'love this club' followed by a dramatic change of heart.
It's in the hands of Pozzo & Duxbury. He will settle for whatever they decide. All the rest is uninformed (or -illinformed or possibly ill-disposed) speculation.
A decent win on Sunday and he can all start to feel better!

Yeah I agree... I get the feeling he wants to talk to Everton but respects the decision if we don't let him. Trying to be neutral and respectful to both sets of fans

Remember the likes of Malky and Rodgers saying they would stay...and then left not long afterwards!

Like Kev and co say Silva is protecting himself from getting a bad reputation by demanding to leave so soon but would like to talk.

    Meh, that gives zero closure.

But an honest account in today's disloyal terms.

I agree, this is not good. In my mind he has shown a lack of commitment, his board has already told Everton and the wider world that he is not available. He is just inviting Everton to make a silly offer, Gino must now have also realised his coach is flighty and not here for the long haul.

Fair point - he probably think "will I be sacked come May anyway"

Although not all the managers under the Pozzos have been sacked.

To be honest I can only think of three - and one of those (Dyche) was probably to be expected given new owners had just taken over the club.

But if there’s no legs in this he doesn’t need to show Everton fans any respect. I think this needs to go away and quickly but I’m not sure it will. I think going after 12 games would be ridiculous especially considering it’s not a big big club just one that’s bigger than us. He’s done well for us (although not completely faultless with some of the sub decisions) and needs to stay for a couple of seasons, and if all (hopefully) goes well, think about moving on then, not after a few months.

If there are any legs in this then there must be some idiotic brains working at Everton. There are lots of fish out there with more experience than Silva has, and they should be broadening their net. How they can appear to give more weight to a manager who has only 12 games under his belt with us and half a season at Hull, together with a couple of trophies in Greece and Portugal for clubs who were already amongst the top 4 in their respective countries as against Sean Dyche is beyond me. How can a person go to Burnley and get them promoted twice and then into the top half of the Premiership and yet not be considered amongst the top managers ? If Dyche were Italian or Spanish he would have all the top clubs chasing him by now.

At the time they was going to bring in a lot of overseas players so needed an oversea manager So although Sean sounds like he is not local none could understand him

Agreed. There seemed to be a bit of a tantrum from Silva at the end of the transfer window, the board spent heavily on Gary, maybe they turned him down on a couple more of his targets?
