The trouble with landing that double today is that the wedding guests now think I am genius. CALETT MAD tomorrow for anyone who wants to listen
Morning, team. I see that Cheltenham these 3 days haven’t scheduled a race on the Chase course (X-County concludes on hurdles track) beyond 2.25. To quote old boy Jim Royle, ‘natural amphitheatre, my posterior’! Meanwhile, I saw something yesterday I didn’t expect to see. Old boy Alan King advertising for staff via a postcard in a newsagents window! In these days of I.T. and everything being on-line you really don’t expect to see such things from the head of a multi-million pound business. Not saying it’s a bad thing though. Good luck all.
I see some lucky punter landed 40 grand on a small stake six fold. I hope it was one of you lot. I noticed he picked a couple of our selections
Plenty to tempt you in to this Cheltenham card; bit of a minefield, I'd have to say, so best of luck to all today. I'm particularly interested in 2 at longer odds than I'd thought, to be honest. 1.15 Champagne City Won 3 times in the summer and was badly hampered on most recent start at Chepstow, so might resume progress for another powerful "team". Might be the value in the field at 20/1. 2.25 Coo Star Sivola Yes, yes, I know, the market tells us the story here, but is this horse really such a long shot in a novice chase? It won a nice class 1 hurdles race on this course on New Years Day, after all, with some smart subsequent performers in behind and under the talented Lizzie Kelly too, so I also wonder why the 20/1 is still available? Let's see, shall we? ( There's another big odds possibility in the opener, Solstice Son, but I'm staying away from that race ) Enjoy.
Nothing I stongly fancy today tbh and as I am attending tomorrow gonna keep my powder dry I think. Looking forward to seeing Finians Oscar later.... If I was having a bet I would have a punt on Festive Affair in the 1.50pm.
If Calett Mad wins will it be worth while taking the 10/1 on the same result at Haydock later on this month...?? Currently sat about 5th in the A/P betting in the Betfair's Stayers
Finian's Oscar should be beating these today if he's going to be winning at the festival. I think he is eight pounds better than these already. I wouldn't be putting him up on here as a tip but even money looks to be tempting me.
You may be right but William Henry has always had a huge reputation. He even won the same bumper as Sprinter Sacre – the rich one at Ayr on Scottish National day that Mr Henderson likes to target. Injuries haven’t been kind to the horse – he’s just shy of his 8th birthday and has only ran 4 times over obstacles. However, if taking to fences and finally fulfilling his potential he could prove very useful. Haven’t bet in the race though.
ITV app on your smartphone, how very splendid indeed! ( And I can watch Real Housewives of Cheshire, too )
I wonder how many forum members backed the most recent winner at Cheltenham because they thought that it was trained by OUR Mr Henderson. Nice mistake to have made, people. Make your way to the payout window…
