I know Graham Carr found Tiote, and that has turned out to be a great signing for us. We also appear to be putting a lot of faith in his reccomendations as a result of Tiote....I hope they turn out to be just as good....but are we relying on Carr to much? What if the others he suggests turn out to be average, ie. Miaga , Pieters etc... Apart from Tiote, has Carr found any other gems (not saying he hasn't, but would just like to know)?
Williamson? Not saying he is the greatest player at the club, but looking at it in terms of value for money he has been a good player for us and an excellent find!
He's nothing more than short term cover for Taylor imo. Were so much stronger with the s Taylor and Colo partnership. Okay player, but he shouldn't have been first choice last season. With him and sol involved we conceded a fair few. Playing him wasn't Carrs fault mind.
Im sure young JJ Hooper could be added to that list. I know it was only an u-18 game, but a hatrick on your debut at any level is good going, against Chelsea too.
Is this our young star of the future? I know it was only one game but he's been getting some really good publicity.
Maybe we could rely on another club's scout to find us players instead? Don't understand this post, what are we supposed to do instead of trusting our head scout to find us players?
Dont forget Williamson despite not being a youngster was still playing his first season in the Premier League and it takes time to settle into this level so really he did very well overall and can imrove a lot yet given the chance. Also he was in ahead of Saylor last season mostly because Saylor was out injured, not fully fit or not on his best form distracted by a combination of injuries and contact talks. And Campbell just didnt come off as a signing although like many i thought at the time he was worth a try.
Seemingly Graham Carr was at Coventry vs Watford last night. Any decent players there? My guess would be Joe Murphy the Coventry keeper
