We've signed some experienced premiership players and have a predominantly British squad so why don't we take a gamble on a foreign lad.

There will be some outstanding talent in la liga and the bundesliga that would not command huge fees compared to the inflated prices that come with premiership names.

We got Sess from a foreign league, a relatively average fee and never played in England before and look at him now! Star man. I'd love Brucie to go and get a LW and a goal machine. We have big lads in Ji and Wickham, both of whom will take time for us to fully see what they can do but we lack an out and out goalscorer.

Yesterday highlighted how much we miss bent unfortunately. He would have buried at least one chance we got...

I'm still thinking positive lads. 1 game doesn't make a season!! KTF

We should be no question. I've said it numerous times we've had since January to scour the planet for a replacement fpr bent. I know wickham is young and we may sell him for a huge profit in a few years IF he comes good, but the decision to spend the majority of our transfer budget on an unproven 18 year old looks more and more questionable by the day.

We probably are looking abroad. Like you I'm desperate for a LW and a striker.

There is way too much pressure on Gyan to score 20 goals, he won't. Imo he'll do very good with a clever striker who will provide balls for Gyan to run on to, and score 15+ as well. That would take off pressure from Gyan and he can have a more free role in which imo he will thrive. Unfortunately I dont see us getting a player like that :(

We have needed a LW since Bruce came and its a wonder how he hasn't bought one yet, please on this window Brucie!

I've just seen on skysports twitter that Marco Borrielo has been transfer listed by Milan I think. Just looking at his stats he's been getting 15/20 goals for the last few years in Serie A.

Surely we should be looking at players like this?

Maybe, but like Blackburn we're not an attractive proposition for a high-earning foreigner.

We need a PROVEN forward that has a chance of getting us 20 goals a season, a left winger and a left back Richardson is not a left back we can all see it why cant SB.

I would be happy with Bardo at LB mate but then we need a RB.

A forward and a LW are a must

    O'Shea?

I really hope that yesterday was a wake up call for Bruce, we were so ineffective down the left its shocking.

    A defence of:

    LB Bardsley
    RB O'Shea
    CB Bramble
    CB Brown

...is more than good enough for me.

Our right wing options are decent and we have some top central midfielders all battling for a place but we dont have a single left winger in the squad!! How are we possibly supposed to cope an entire season playing people out of position??

Maybe we are, just we don't know...

But i think i'm correct in asuming that Gyan, Ji or Sess were not born within UK borders.
