Exactly. Cornwall would be ****ed if they broke away from the UK. I think Mebyon Kernow were campaigning for devolution rather than independence to be fair, but still a stupid idea imo.

 

A farmer got challenged about this on the radio this morning. He was moaning about Brexit and saying with employment so low who was going to fill the gap to harvest his crops.

Some one pops in and says work permits?

The farmer paused for a second then realising he was cornered with the response goes yeah that would work!

I love the way farmers moan about employment being so low, the only reason it's low is because we make the kids stay in education these days, so we employ under 18's from abroad instead

 

So the farmer changed the topic to having to pay more for labour....he was reminded there was a minimum wage....even longer pause

 

I think the farmer ****ed off on his tractor after that.

 

Oh yeah i forgot to mention the bit where the farmer claimed it would leave an all year round shortage in the job market for farmers they would have to fill with permits...wait for it...

He was asked but you only offer work for three months in the year don't you...

Will let you know as a "three bird" is the Christmas dinner choice in the pieguts household this year. We discovered a brilliant little village butcher earlier on in the year and it's a speciality of his.
