I dont even care anymore to be fair....

Sunderland caretaker manager Billy McKinlay has quit the club to join David Moyes at West Ham United. The Scot, who was handed the first team reins alongside Robbie Stockdale after Simon Grayson's departure, will link up with the former Black Cats boss as part of his backroom staff at the London Stadium.

McKinlay had joined Sunderland under Moyes as his chief scout, but has management experience with Fulham and Norweigan side Stabaek.

He also served as Moyes' assistant coach during his spell at Real Sociedad.

His departure is another blow to Sunderland, who are still without a manager almost two weeks after Grayson was sacked.

It means Stockdale will take training this week in preparation for the Millwall game on Saturday, while Martin Bain continues his hunt for a new manager.

Moyes replaced Slaven Bilic as Hammers boss last week, and has moved quickly to get his backroom staff in place, with 48-year-old McKinlay joining him with immediate effect.

A club statement said: "Sunderland AFC can confirm that Billy McKinlay has taken up a coaching role with West Ham United.

"The club would like to thank Billy for his efforts during his time on Wearside.

"Robbie Stockdale will continue as the club’s caretaker manager when the squad returns to training on Monday.

"A further announcement will be made in due course."

While I care about a lot of things to do with Sunderland, he wasn't one of them. New manager will want their own men most likely.

It does take the piss just how much we have to endure, it's like we're collectively being punished for something. I think I'm getting used to it now though and from reading this forum it seems a lot of us just let the bad news wash over us for the most part. This particular thing though, not bothered.

Ive never felt so disheartened about my club ever and we were mid table div 3 in the 80s when i fell in love with them.
I honestly feel our squad could get us out of this league if we sorted our shyte out. We are much sttonger than Sheff utd and cardiff

I think we do need additions to compete because we've only got one decent CB and it's costing us. Lots of quality in the squad but it's not very well balanced and needs investment, which I do think we'll get.

Yeah it's a bad time for us it seems to be one thing after another. Just have to wait it out I guess, Short selling up will give us a huge boost if the new owners are any good.

Not that much of a shocker as He’s been with Moyes loads of places.

Based on the last team selection we won’t miss much.

Apparently he wasn't on a contract with us and would be fair to say he would have been out the door when the new manager comes in. Good luck to him cos he'll ****ing need it.

Sounds like he's just one of Moyes' boys.

A part of the thing that broke the club has gone. I'm not crying. Stockdale can give it a proper go now.

Not sure how he' being labelled a parasite. I thought he was supposed to be one of the only bright sparks at the club.

Devloped a cracking youth side and played a Massive part in nurturing Pickford. What a bastard eh? <laugh>

No appreciation for good honest hard work some of our fans. We don't see it often at our club so it would be nice for him to get his dues instead of being called up and down by people who just want to blame every single thing on anybody blindly. The bloke has done good things for this club. Putting the blame on him just cause he's been a 1st team coach for just over year is ridiculous imo.
