As the first game did not happen this will be the first time Bristol Rovers have hosted a cup tie against Watford. Bristol Rovers • The Manager – Paul Buckle View attachment 6774 "Probably our play in the first half was the best part and I thought that halfway through the first half we got the ball down and moved it quickly and created a couple of really good openings. A lot of Macclesfield's first half chances came as a result of errors by us but, but had we got a goal at that stage of the game we probably would have gone on and won it. In the end we had to defend our box and I thought we did that brilliantly.” “A clean sheet was something we were looking for because we always feel we can score goals and create chances. We did create opportunities but we aren't that good to say that a 0-0 draw away from home isn't a good result.” • The Pirates Scott Bevan 31 mÃn. It was a bit 'huff and puff', moments of quality but there should have been goals.” • The Hornets Rene Gilmartin Carl Dickinson Adrian Mariappa David Mirfin Lloyd Doyley John Eustace Half time Gavin Massey replaced Mark Yeates - tactical 64 mÃn. Current form The Bristol Rovers team have some odd results a win at home and away and a home gefeat with a draw as well. The Watford team have got better results away from WD18 this season, although that is not for trying. Two draws from two matches is a fair result but they should be unhappy they did not return home with maximum points. Both teams produced goalless draws last Saturday. Akureyri's Prediction: 0:1 Bristol Rovers will put up a strong show as the locals but the visitors will return to Watford with a win. There is a history – the same text as last time. The last time the two clubs met was a cup match in 2008 when Watford won by 1:0, a goal scored by. Before that the clubs had not met for nearly twenty years. For the matches in Bristol the locals have the advantage in 18 wins to 17 with 7 draws, in goal scoring they lead by 58 goals to 56. Bristols best win against Watford was a 4:2 success in 1923, Watford won the return match seven days later by 4:0. Watford’s biggest win visiting Rovers was a 1:5 thumping in 1930. skál/skÃ¥l/cheers/salut Don't forget The Hornet’s Nest Drop in for some match chat. I did not realise the ground was so close to my place of work, literally a 5 minute drive away So guess who will be there on Tuesday?
millens aint getting any so he his trying to find a new bloke on as many forums as possible. since chris-gashead left him, he has been very lonely
It looks like we might need our waterproofs weather does not look to clever and we shall be in the uncovered area of the ground Still it's only water
I will be there looking forward to watching the Hornets. I went there with Exeter City last year and got a real drenching and they lost 1-0. Hornets to win 2-1 COYY.
Err trying desperately to get back to the Match Thread ....... this is a game Watford could have done without (with all due respect). It is clear Sean Dyche has his work cut out trying to shape his new team/squad/style of play, and this has been done against a backdrop of league games. Alternatively this is an opportunity for Dyche to get his team into a rythym and get them to perform. Either way I can't see Dyche treating this game as a 1st team exercise - there will be changes and I can see him resting some core players - Taylor and Eustace are 2 that come to mind. Otherwise I can see him leaving Sordell and Deeney upfront to try and establish them as a partnership. The defence again won't have too much of a radical feel (except without Taylor). Midfield is where I really don't know which way Dyche will go. In summary this game concerns me in some ways - clearly Dyche needs a win, but doesn't want to disrupt the plans for the Birmingham game.
We do need to win this and win it convincingly, I don't want to see to many changes, yes rest Tiny and RJ but that is only going on what other people have said elsewhere about RJ's performances so far. Perhaps it is time for Walker to come in or if the Prince is fit give him a run out, would rather take it seriously and if we are in control bring on the kids.
