A great win yesterday but did Obertan seem a bit of a passenger. Can only remember a couple of runs.

He probably works best as an impact sub. Huge pace to torture the tiring legs of the defence

He doesn't work well on the wing, which is where he was most of the game. He suits the hole between the striker.

He seemed reluctant to carry on running with it. He could've got himself in great positions then just seemed to stop. Don't know if it's a confidence thing or what.

Was thinking that meself, he seemed to drift in and out of the game.

Anyone know why Marveaux isn't getting game time?

Marv isn't quite match fit yet. He'll probably start against Scunny though

He'll need time on the pitch to give him his confidence back after a year of not featuring for Man U. I think he'll be a useful player.

I thought he was terrible, I was quite excited when I saw he was starting, after his introduction against Arsenal but most dissapointing of all was his unwillingness to mark players during opposing corners. On every occasion he was nudged in the back prior to the kick being taken and he continued walking towards the front post ... awful.

He showed one glimmer of fight and that was at the very beginning of the second half and it was obvious that Pardew had had a word! Then it was back to sauntering around looking lost and being caught between the decision to chase a ball, lay it off or run onto it!?

Clueless I'm afraid ... I hope I'm wrong but for Fergie to let him go, I'm not expecting great things !!

TBF it wasn't his type of match was it, very scrappy, not much room to run (which he's good at) he's not the strongest bloke but he needs a game (Fulham maybe) where he can show what he can do..

He's definitely not a terrible player. He needs a bit of time to settle into the team, and a bit more match time and i reckon he'll do alright.

He seems to lack the stamina for a full game, maybe needs to build up his stamina, but hes a great prospect and seems a useful impact sub with his blistering pace.

I can't imagine him being any use whatsoever in games where space is tight and players are closed down quickly. Which doesn't leave many games... He does have great pace though and agree he seems like he could be more of an impact player. But he does look bloody depressed all the time!

He had a few opportunities to run with the ball but didn't look confident to take the ball the distance, I agree though he obviously needs time to settle. Problem is we're not renowned for giving players time ... Ba being a perfect example following his piss poor show against Arsenal!

Howay the Lads, I'm sure they'll all gel eventually!!

Didnt see enough of the ball I thought, we should exploit his pace and play more through balls for him.

He hasn't had enough time to be written of yet, the team need more time to gel and get to know each other I'm hoping he'll be a real asset to the squad, not just an impact sub. I hope he's with us because he wants to be and not because it didn't work out at Man Utd.

He wasn't one of our best players at Sunderland - but they can't all be. Give the lad a chance, I thought some of his play was quite good. But he does need a few games to get going in a new team.

Definitely wasn't the easiest game for a winger to effect to be fair. Really hard to judge him in a game where no-one really has the ball for that long.
