I had a bit craic with Shearer a couple year back in a restaurant in Newcastle and he was an absolute diamond. We even compared knobs haha.

I’ve no problem with him, was a great player, and he was respectful as **** to the staff etc in there. He’s a good pundit as well.

I thought that too. My recollection of the event - and it's sketchy at best - was that he was at a barbecue and some of his mates put the t-shirt on him to take pictures and take the piss out of him (not Sunderland particularly). Clark wasn't the sharpest tool in the box and I doubt he foresaw the fall-out from it. I thought it was all sort of out in the open at the time.

In any case, I thought at the time that it was ridiculous to get rid of him for a bit of daftness, he made no secret he was a Mag but always gave his all for us (unlike Kone for example)

Are we planning on hiring a manager or are we just gonna have BIG JOS handing out bibs and putting cones out in training for the foreseeable future?

I've got an idea - why doesn't Short (via a 3rd party obviously) stick a couple of him millions on someone at 150/1 then hire him - then **** off?

He'd get his money back, someone would happily take a million pound payoff (me? I have a couple of FA coaching badges from my lad's footy) and the club can go about it's business and Short can give it to the fans?

Bookies generally only have about £100 limit when taking bets on new managers, transferred players etc.

    Nice idea though!

£9,899 on 365 so who can we get 3.500,000/1 on?

    Haha.
