Mmmmm I've seen plenty of personal insults thrown at LJ, and it's not just for his playing or coaching abilities......Some of this is all a bit hypocritical in my eyes..

Personal criticism or insults of Johnson, I agree, I think he insulted us many times with his pathetic performances, excuses, promises last season, no apologies or denial from me on that one but never, ever involved his family or private life.

Football and Coaching abilities, the pendulum is still swinging and that shoud be the subject of another thread, on another day.

I've seen plenty of personal insults, name calling because of his size and the fact he is GJ's son.......nothing to do with his playing or coaching performances.
Most of the hate towards him is to do with the above.
We are 4th in the championship........anyone else getting us to the highest position at this stage of a season since his father would be hailed as a hero.Because it's LJ "the pendulum is still swinging".........Seems very personal to me...

I'm not going to get into an LJ debate again but I certainly don't hate him and I am not a 'Luvie', he and his team is doing well that cannot be denied, when they or he fails his problems will start again, I want the team to succeed and it is the club I support, I hope Johnson continues to do his job well and we will all be happy.

As I have often said before one little individual like me is of no consequence and as an individual to me he is of no consequence, I can't be any more honest than that .

To be fair I don’t think anyone has gone over the top regarding Warnock on this occasion.
Nobody has referred to his family in a derogatory way and the only insults posted against him were at ‘banter’ level - which I get the impression he quite enjoys.
A great manager at this level who sticks his head up to be shot at!!!

Well I for one don't really get mixed up in some of the cross threaded ambiguous and oft hypocritical statements made, or person bashing ..AND I AM NOT REFERRING ON ANYONE SINGLE INDIVIDUAL in particular.
In making my next comments, I answering Wiz's statement of the above and in respect to that, I cant personally see the link in insults and his performance, comments he [LJ]made, (excuses) or promises !
I think it was made quite clear we needed more time, even before the 8 losses ..it will take 3 windows to get the staff we needed, things would improve when we did and as for excuses, any persons slant on certain comments can be construed or misconstrued
the 3rd window we went uphill, performances were good to excellent , and promises were therefore [ and it takes time to fulfil most ] were attained.
Humans come in all sorts and varieties .. some patient some not some good some not etc etc

I find it all very strange,
We are 4th in the league, play a good standard of football (entertaining) and find ourselves the only championship team in the Carabao cup quarter finals v the mighty Man U......
Yes he had what could be called a blip last season, but "he" sorted it out, even though he had death threats (which is the worst form of insult and very personal) .........yet he's still disliked by some........
I for one, am scratching my head....seems like the wound to some will never heal, for whatever reason..
For my club, I think he's doing wonders!!

It's called democracy. Our forefathers sacrificed a hell of a lot to win us the freedom of speech, and with it free opinion so let's be a little bit grown up about it shall we ?

LJ didn't have a blip last season. It wasn't like we lost 2 or 3 games on the bounce. That is a blip in my opinion.

He took us on the worst run in our history and there's a massive difference between that and a blip.

Therefore I, and others refuse to say what a wonderful Manager he turned out to be.

It may be that in time, our league position and status does make him a wonderful Manager. But that isn't yet in my book.

As for death threats and all the rest of it, people need a reality check. It's a game of 22 blokes kicking a bag of wind round a field ffs.
Life is SO much more important than football ever will be..

Yeah as the history book will show, it was our worst run.......Personally I don't care, what's more important was that we didn't go down and stayed in arguably one of the best and most competitive leagues in the world.
LJ learnt by his mistakes and sorted it........Unlike the hero that Cotts is made out to be......Achievements at League one level and has not set the world alight since..

I don't have a problem with freedom of speech......It's interesting to get other peoples views.......those with common sense and those that struggle with it!!

Here here Bigjohn, I for one thought he should have gone last season, but he proved me and a lot of others wrong, I give the man great credit for the way he handled all the crap he took last season from a few on here, some may say it was justified but not the stuff he took from three posters on here ( they know who they are ) the man said it would take three transfer windows, and at the moment he's proving himself right, long may it continue for our football club.

One of the most amazing things is 100% of us on here have had to learn from the moment the amazing thing called life took over our till death us to depart function to breathe, everything else has had a modicum of "learning" attached.
Time to walk, I defy ANYBODY to say "one day I just got up from crawl and wandered over to the toy box" or Had a new bike, 2 wheeler for my birthday, never expected that, never been on one before, got on and did a couple of miles, GOING DOWN HILL PUT ON FRONT BRAKE FINISHED INTO A WALL ..... broke nose left arm, and both legs had to stay in bed for 8 weeks in traction.

    some are quick some slower...
learned Pythagoras 2 mins after it was chalked on the board / took me ages to work out why radius was used not diameter,
passed every exam first time everytime with hardly any study / spent hours every day swotting and failed half of them, RETOOK THEM TWICE BEFORE ALL PASSED.
Started a new job, piece of piss got it right from the start never ever made a mistake, was top man in my line within a matter of 2 to 3 years ....

COME ON get real everyone HAS TO LEARN even FOOTBALL MANAGERS

All said previously is correct , yes he kept us up after Cotts left . Yes we started last season we'll , had a terrible run , he kept his job , made a few changes and managed to keep us up again . That's all in the past.

With hindsight I think maybe Lee possibly over estimated his own ability to control Tomlin , I may be wrong , but the improvement started last season when he stopped playing him and has gone from strength to strength this season since he's been sold.

This season so far I don't think anyone disagrees we are playing football that is both pleasing on the eye and very effective, the result of which we are 4th in the table & due to face Man U in the cup, why can't we all just forget what went on in the past , and enjoy the here & now, and long may it continue and who knows where it will take us.

Common sense mate,,,,but don't hold your breath regarding our manager........The knives & insults are waiting when we go on a bad run and while we continue to do well, it will be all down to LUCK. To some, the "hate" will never go away!!

I would add that things started to change when JP left replaced with Jamie McAllister. But agree with all the rest of what you said.

Good point , I forgot to add that into my post, but Agree with you there ROD , now I see management and players are all Lee's , appreciate not all the players bought by Lee, but you know what I mean. Certainly macca seems to have tightened us up defensively too, everyone seems to be pulling together and long may it last.
I'm long enough in the tooth to know not to get too carried away.
What I personally am enjoying for once is players actually appear to be improving , I'm excited to see just how much some are able to improve and whether any are able to become premier league players, hopefully with us , but if not then with other premier league sides.
