Waiting Patiently is a machine and a half - fooking marvellous performance. Going to the top is this lad, really hope he can stay sound
Hope everyone got on, astonishing this horse was still 10/3 on the day, presumably Ribchester mugs to thank for that, apologies for not sharing all my other winners last night.
I thought the Breeders Cup was abysmal across both days. Hearing the US reporters calling it the World Championships is hilarious. In my opinion it's up there with Dubai World Cup as overhyped and regularly disappointing. Really dull stuff which is a shame because i'd love to be drawn into a real World Championship of racing.
I thought it was the best two days racing of the year as normal. But I suppose its always good racing when you are running a mock and the meeting has been so good to me over the years. I look forward to it for months like people do with Cheltenham, so ive got a decent edge in terms of having knowledge of both US and European racing which most of the money in the markets dont have. The track was pretty fair apart from the rail on the dirt track but thats usually the way on any dirt track, you dont want to be down at the inside taking dirt. The results were excellent both days, tremendous betting value that you just dont see anywhere else and I thought the Classic was a great spectacle again, top class performance from Gun Runner and Arrogate clearly long done with the game. Mugs backing all those short price place lays probably thought it was ****, although im pretty certain you were not one of them Bob.
Didn't have any bets across the two days Boris. Just thought it was lacking as per. Previous years have had superstars to at least drum up some intrigue but all this years superstars are English or Australian and they upped sticks for the year after British Champions Day or the Arc. It could be great if they could persuade something absolutely top class to train for the weekend next year but i just can't see any top European horse aiming for this to the possible detriment of being under cooked for the biggest days in the European calendar.
Doubled it with Coneygree, like you say, it won comfortably so disappointing the old boy had an off day jumping
How are we meant to get on when you only chose to share it with a few selected people. Either tip them on here and get the kudos or keep them to yourself. You are becoming a proper tool
"Hope you took the 5/1 World Approval, my bet of the season" Posted on the daily thread a week ago.... Tool It was put up, sorry you didnt see it.
I did see it. You were bragging that the few you had told were sitting on some nice bets. The price was long gone you were saying and then one of your acolytes came on to thank you. Well done. Shame you didnt feel the rest of the people on here were worthy. Maybe you didnt want to share your "golden information" with the Chelsea fans
It was 10/3 all day yesterday, I onyl got 5/1, hardly long gone, should have been closer to evens so was still good value.
Its beaten Lancaster Bomber 1.1/2 lengths. Havent you been slating Lancaster Bomber the whole flat season?
Dont think ive ever slated him, I had him in my top 3. Him and Zelzal were the only dangers imo as Lancaster Bomber was unlucky when second to World Approval in Woodbine, knew it would have been a bit closer. But really, before the race I was thinking only some serious bad luck can get this beat.
Well I watched most of the meeting, had a few winners, but my overriding feeling about it being at Del Mar was how many hard luck stories come out of the meeting. That short straight on the dirt track means you really need luck in running or a horse that is capable of quickening from somewhere near the front. I guess you knew that which is why you did so well.
Lancaster Bomber has ran on GF or better 5 times, all in Group 1s, 4th when pacemaker for Churchill in the Guineas beaten only 1 3/4, and 2nd in the other 4, he was rock solid to run a race from that draw last night. I never said World Approval was anything special or that it was a great race, they finished in a heap behind him. The reason he was a great bet for me was because I was so strong against Ribchester and he was the only other horse in the race with the class.
