couldn't see another thread on this so hopefully not a double-up.

But what do people make of Tammy's call-up to the England squad? My initial thought was that it's a cynical call-up by England to give him a couple of minutes to block the Nigeria option that he has.
But that's unfair I think, he's earned it through his performances in a (let's face it) pretty average side, with little support.
He's young enough and talented enough to go on and prove himself and be a regular in the England side, I truly believe that. Still doesn't mean i'll support them though, haha!!

Good luck to the lad , I'm indifferent to his choice of which national side he'll pick but hopefully he'll be bouncing on Saturday based on his called up and we'll see the benefit , 3-0

Friendlies don't count with FIFA - if he's not a success or feels he doesn't fit he can still switch national sides.
    Hopefully he will do well.
I was definitely wrong about him but still think the responsibility on his shoulders is too much.

If he is born in England then that is the country he can play for, I dont like this that you can play where your father or grand parents were born...

if so, the Wales would be weakened quite a bit. Not as much as a few select idiots in the media would like to make out, but weakened nonetheless. I think parent's country of birth can be fair enough, but grand-parents is pushing it.

So if Gareth Bale and his wife/girlfriend have a son who is born in Madrid, he couldn't play for Wales, only Spain?

He does not have too. Born in a foreign country is enough and super seeds everything.... There are illegal immigrants in this country who have had children here....The illegal immigrant can be deported but her children cant....

I was born, prematurely, on the rear seat of a Thai International aeroplane, that was sitting on the runway at Mumbai Airport. The midwife was Nigerian. The pilot was Russian. My father is Welsh, with Italian parents. My mother is English, but has some Cherokee blood in her veins. We live in Wales. Who the **** do I play for

Mumbai Airport - Bombay when you were born - what a place, especially having to get from the Domestic Terminal to the International Terminal

Being born in England does not make you English, or even entitle you to a British passport.
