He said he's a fan - at least 3 times. He's invested a significant sum to clear some of the debt We should be aiming for 6th/7th in the premier We should not be where we are now with the squad we have - Not happy with Grayson
I for one like what he said. It was an honest assesment of our current plight. He actually looks stressed with it all. He said that we have conceded more goals than all but one team yet we have the same defence as we had in prem league.
Ellis Short wants us to be 6th and 7th in the premier league, on the same day, Jason Steele, makes championship team of the month. It's a funny old world.
If he put his money where his mouth is ill be happy with this interview. If he doesn't it's the smug and cheekiest 8 minutes I've ever had to endure.
Couldn't give a **** what he said, I don't get a hard on from sound bites, He's ran the club into the ground, the evidence is damming don't need to hear his excuses. He should take a loss and **** off.
This has all gone terribly wrong on your watch Mr Short, time to step forward and accept your responsibility for being possibly the worst chairman ever to grace the boardroom at our club. Other than that I think he's a top bloke
He speaks well, his decision making is rash, but he has the power to put things right, I wont be sorry to see him leave but not at any cost, as that could be disastrous on a scale even we cant imagine. In his defence he need not have given that interview and his comments show that he is well aware of the situation on the ground. I would like him to see us through this nightmare of a season, for everyone's sake, and get us onto an even keel. We were getting near to it, but he pulled the trigger too soon imo. Its in his court now, so we must hope his luck and ours changes. Nil Desperandum.
Businessman owner attempts to protect brand value shocker!! Yes is it mostly the same defence you had in the Premiership. It was poor and old then, it's worse now. They also were saved numerous times by an exciting young prospect in goal - who was sold to the first good bid. He may as well have come out and said "John O'Shea did not become a poor player overnight!". To be honest I read this as him saying that he's put in lots of money in the background which the fans don't appreciate and that the players at the club already are good enough so don't expect lots more investment. Hard to disagree with the assessment of Bart or Bri on this.
There's an old saying........ "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" Well, Mr Short, it's broke and needs fixing. x
Damned if he doesn't and damned now he has it would seem. I thought it was an honest assessment and we need to draw a line in the sand and move on here. He owns the club and that is not going to change overnight. He isn't just going to walk away from his investment because we dont want him here and the poisonous atmosphere is killing us. We need to take him at his word, let his actions do his talking and hope that the man he employs in the next week or so can lift the club from the doldrums on the pitch. If we can survive and build next season and get back to the Premier League then it can be sold for far more to a far better interested party. Id expect that any new manager will have a bit of support in January or else that interview will come crashing down around him in 2 or 3 months time and he knows it. Ill say this only once. We are 13 points from a play off place with 31 games remaining. Its not impossible at all.
**** it. The guys a billionaire. The guy's supposedly made a fortune buying and selling. Some you win some you lose. You've lost on this one. Sell it, take the hit like many other hits you've probably taken, and move on.
And the reason he is a massively successful $Billionaire is by not doing exactly this. Why should he just write off £100m to make us happy? Would you?
He's moved back to the US to base himself for alternative businesses interests mate. His London house is up for sale. Regardless of what he's said his actions are of abandonment. We are not his priority and that's alarming imo.
Have to say Cest the more I look at the club and the players I don't think we will be worrying about the Premiership for 4 or 5 years.
