Before a Joan Fontaine movie last week they showed a small biography program (probably compiled in the early 2000s , in the Bio was an interview dated 1969 where explicitly described in detail what was expected of her and other female actors on a cobbled together photoshoot trip to a Hotel in the Hollywood Hills area ? under the guise of a photo shoot , with various directors & producers Her mother insisted on attending and the next morning after a row about there being no photographer once was called for , they rushed some shots , put Fontaine on a plane back to LA and sacked her the very next morning , she claimed because she didnt do what was expected of her ... She implied Hitchcock was involved in this behaviour ... i tried to find the interview on youtube , it was with a female interviewer and she never once pressed on the revelations ... it was more spoken as an anecdote than as a revelation - i thought it was Valerie Singleton interviewing , tho there were a collection of clips and may have been one of those
Alec Baldwin's comments on Weinstein. Does he have a point. In an interview with PBS on Friday, Baldwin, 59, admitted hearing a 'rumor' McGowan had been raped by Weinstein but doing nothing about it along with the rest of Hollywood. He said it was 'for' McGowan to prosecute it and later said it was an 'issue' that victims of sexual harassment were sometimes silenced by cash settlements because it thwarted the course of justice. 'You heard the rumor that he raped Rose McGowan. You heard that over and over. We have heard that for decades.' 'But what happened was that Rose McGowan took a payment of $100,000 and settled her case with him. And it was for Rose McGowan to prosecute that case,' he said.
If it was a known secret as such that Weinstine had raped someone I wouldn't work with him on anything, ever. So the people that have and continued to do so and smile at red carpet events etc. sicken me. On the other hand he's right that ultimately it was for Rose McGowan to look for justice.
Going to get very interesting this. Weinstein filed a motion to dismiss the criminal charges against him on Friday. It contains a number of emails sent by one of his accusers between 2013 and 2017. That woman's allegation that Weinstein raped her in 2013 resulted in charges of rape in the first degree, rape in the third degree and predatory sexual assault. She wrote in the emails that Weinstein 'is the bar' for the movie industry and comments on his 'smile and beautiful eyes. In one email, sent in 2014, the woman wrote: 'There is no one else I would enjoy catching up with that understands me quite like you.' Two weeks later, the woman wrote to accept Weinstein's invitation to bring her mother along for a drink, saying: 'She would love to meet you, plus you can see how good my genes are.' Mr Brafman said in a statement on Friday: 'The motions filed today reflect the first opportunity for Mr. Weinstein to present legal arguments as to why the indictment filed against him should be dismissed. 'Among the numerous grounds supporting dismissal, the motions reveal the existence of exculpatory evidence known to the prosecution but intentionally kept from the grand jurors, communications which corroborate Mr. Weinstein’s factual innocence in this case.' please log in to view this image The emails have been released by Weinstein's legal team in an effort to have charges against the movie mogul dismissed He continued: 'Attached to the motions are dozens of emails written by the anonymous accuser, who sent extensive warm, complimentary and solicitous messages to Mr. Weinstein immediately following the now claimed event and over the next four year period. 'These communications irrefutably reflect the true nature of this consensual intimate friendship, which never at any time included a forcible rape.' Weinstein was married to his now estranged wife Georgina Chapman during the time that all 40 emails were sent. He is facing six charges in total, with these three new charges added last month: Predatory Sexual Assault carries a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life behind bars. Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual assault by over 20 women, has pleaded not guilty to these three initial charges:
