Blimey Fran I used to listen to the Triffids too. It was very good the imagination played tricks.........good program.
Just reading the book with my reading group....I had forgotten that part of it was set on the Island.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...against_away_day_specialists_Burnley/?ref=rss Not sure of its the players or the manager causing us to be less creative? If I was tasked with attacking the opposition while still defending against their attackers I might end up not doing anything at all too. Reading Romeu's interview here its clear that they don't have any idea how they're supposed to do what the manager wants of them. Romeu has often spoken to manager Mauricio Pellegrino who is “always telling me” that it is important Saints mark attackers even when the team are going forward. “He’s always telling me when we’re attacking we need to be closer to their strikers because if we lose the ball and they’re free it’s easier for them to be free and run and get that counterattack,” he said. “While we’re attacking we have to defend and allow our attacking players to create problems but we defensively have to be ready for the counter.” Thats a definition of stifled, fearful play right there. When I see Lemina running with the ball and nobody creating space I'm now going to wonder if they're all busy watching for counter attacks instead of trying to score goals. Nonsense. No team is ever going to play well like that.
Maybe it was incorrect to move him on? Maybe he was treated like **** by some supporters here who seem to have a sense of self entitlement? Maybe those of us who could see what he was he trying to achieve thought he was doing a decent job considering the circumstances? Maybe those of us in the above group will enjoy pointing all of this out to the spoilt **** brigade? Just maybe...
No point pining for Puel. We should be more concerned a about recruiting Fat Sam. The next six games is so big, & I feel there's an air of inevitability about all this.
Think if we lose this one then Pellegrino will be gone by Xmas unfortunately. Fans already starting to turn it would appear and with the run of games we have after this leading up to Xmas I can't see that changing.
I think we should have given Puel another season, but he's gone and we have Mauricio. There are no guarantees in life...for all we know Puel may have had a worse second season than MP2. It is what it is. As fans, all we can do is support the present manager and team and hope the crowd doesn't poison the atmosphere like they did with Claude. All that does is depress the players and give them grounds to think that some of the problems aren't down to them, but solely due to the manager. We can talk all we like on a forum, but, at the ground, I want our old fans back. You know the ones....noisily behind the team and never get on a player's back during the match. God, I miss those fans.
