Good post.. Without wishing to sound like a 'no-**** Sherlock,' next season will be a major struggle if this season doesn't prove to be that. Without serious investment and changes at the top of the pyramid a slide is on the cards.

You can say many things about Meyler, but going 'awol' certainly isn't one of them.

Exactly. Still broke up play effectively. Yes hi sir passing was shocking as was Larssons. So was hectors and dawsons, part fromwhen they passed to Meyler and Larsson. Funny that maybe cos it was difficult to find anyone showing for the ball.

I like Meyler but last night he showed he has his weaknesses. Blind passes which never found their intended targets, ponderous in possession getting robbed of the ball numerous times. Guilty of piss poor tackling and a real reluctance to push forwards when he had the ball. He was no means our worst offender as I see Henriksen as a total waste of a shirt. 2 subs at half proves that Slutsky made a major selection balls up and it is not for the first time.

There was a moment when he ran with the ball and with no awareness was shoved off it. That wasn't great, but I didn't hear any shouts from his team mates, they'd long given up.

Meyler needs to be that vocal man, but he needs others around him to be the same otherwise he won't perform to his best. Everybody needs a long hard look at themselves.

I don't know what Mazuch has done wrong, but I'd put him in at centre half and push Hector into midfield alongside Meyler, give Larsson a rest.

Agreed. I commented earlier there was no one showing for it apart from Bowen. Even when we had two up top it was still Bowen getting the ball.

I wonder if in January our eyes should be looking at the lower leagues for players willing to roll their sleeves up. But ones that are obviously good enough.

We should sign a forward who is over 6 feet tall.

Agreed. And also, he assisted Bowen's goal with a clever pass when he could have just blindly crossed it to an empty box but he was smart. Yes he had a stinker but people are too quick to turn on him. It probably doesn't help that every poor pass from him gets groaned at.

Yeah we definitely don't have enough players who really get stuck in these days. It used to be our strength with the squad built by Pearson/Bruce. Now we've got a few wishy washy players in key positions.

If breaking up play is giving away needless free kicks, yes your right. He has returned to the player he always was, pulls out great performances when he is up against it, like against Liverpool, but would he get into any other Championship side, perhaps not.

You've got to have a team of players who can keep their chins up and focus when things get tough. I'm sure the likes of Bowen and McGregor, who have also been here a long time have a strong connection to Hull City, but if they don't play well they don't deserve a place in the team.

We will see on Tuesday, but another performance like that and Dave should be dropped and Stewart given his place. And that goes for any of the others too, they should know that their places are under threat. The likes of Tomori, Lenihan and Mazuch are waiting in the wings.

When Meyler is bad he is really bad, and he never seems to turn it round, he just keeps getting worse the longer the game goes on. When he's having a day like that he really needs to be brought off.

Luckily he's an attitude where having a stinker like that won't really bother him and he'll probably go and turn in a mom performance against Moro.

I don't expect to ever see Lenihan play for us again, he'll be released at the end of the season, if anyone else is going to be tried at right back, it's likely to be Tomori (even Meyler's a better option).

It wasn’t that long ago that Meyler came on as a sub won MOTM and the game if I recall.
