Just about sums up my thoughts Tigress. On another negative note, my new ensemble was wasted as some ****ter turned up in the self same outfit as me. Suffice to say I let it be known that I was indeed Cottinghams equivalent of Beau Brummel and he duly left the boozer in floods of tears. I think he may have been one of those North African type chappies.
Given the Allams are taking cash out of the club to repay their debt it will have some affect on how many games Sky shows. If it is less then it will take the Allams longer to repay their debt. If it is more than they will repay it quicker. Which one you prefer depends on whether you think they'll ever sell. The protest could be seen either as a preliminary skirmish providing useful information for the future or an abject failure because they are still here. However what can't be denied was it produced the loudest and most sustained chanting from the North Stand all night. Without it the ground would have been as dead as it was before the balls landed on the pitch.
The protest took most of the blame from the supporters as we were leaving the North Stand. I have never believed in protest in the ground and so my personal view on tonight’s is not valid. But I think the general rule should be protest and we win and the protest works. Protest and we lose and it divides the supporters.
It is much easier to blame the protest than accept we were outplayed by Nottingham Forest, who deserved their win. They were simply better than us. Sad but true.
If you are going to protest where else do you do it but the ground ? Anything else is too easy to ignore
Better on the day. Certainly not a better team player for player. The manager isn't getting the best out of the players he has tactically, and the formation does not work. If slutsky continues with it he'll be sacked and rightly so.
there was nothing wrong with the protest - we weren't attacking and it was over in a couple of minutes but the message got over loud and clear on national tv - to say it disrupted our play is nonsense - the same excuse could be said of any hold up such as an injury - no-one ever comes out with that excuse
If that's what passes for ordinary, we are in trouble. I thought they were poor for most of the game. We were worse and that's a worry.
So, what did it achieve, except a disruption of play? It was funny, it broke a flat atmosphere and I certainly understand their frustration, but I just think disrupting the game isn't the way forward and shouldn't be confused with finances and their handling of business matters.
Why, this is about everything the Allams have done since taking over the club. All that anger, bitterness and hatred had an expression last night. There is no supporters organisation strong enough to lead an effective protest so we end up with people throwing balls onto the pitch. The anger and bitterness will get worse if we continue to lose more games then we win. Sometimes all you can do is spit into the wind to show your powerlessness. I didn't throw a ball but today I feel happier knowing some people did.
Clutching for excuses? We’ve lost plenty of games and will do again without the help of a few tennis balls! It was the opening goal that knocked us back I think?
I’m pretty sure we’ve won games when previous protests have taken place (first red cards?) Obviously the red cards didn’t actually stop the game, but I’m sure if we’d lost that game the protest would still have been blamed for the loss in some quarters
I've not blamed the protest for losing the game, so why the **** you think I'm clutching for excuses is beyond me. I disagree with a protest that disrupts play, that's my opinion and no one need agree. I certainly think the manner in which we restarted was different to how we were before the disruption. But, as I have posted on the match thread, we lost because Slutsky got it wrong again. I think he's the wrong man for the job.
I'm surprised at you, Dennis; the red card protest was non-disruptive and as such I thought it intelligent and effective. This quarter doesn't agree with your inane comment.
My run down. Greegsy. I don't remember him making any saves until one at the death. No chance with either goal. Aina. The lad got injured at the end of the first half. Wtf was he not looked after. He was hobbling all the second half. Might be a doubt for Tuesday. Dawson. Not as commanding as he should have been. Poor distribution. Hector. Dodgy for me. Some good interceptions but I do t have much confidence in him. Clark. I thought he was poor, far to many hoofs anywhere. He can tackle but his distribution poor. Meyler. Broke play up. Held onto it too long. Poor distribution. Bad day at the offfice. Larsson. Same. Bowen. Pacy dangerous niggly. The kid gets better and better. Surely some of the u23's must be busting a gut to get picked seeing what they could achieve now. Growshitski. Wasteful at times. Doesn't seem to want to run onto a through ball when it was crying out for it as they held a high line. A few good efforts. Ridiculous decision to take him off. Henriksen. Confidence is shot. So the fans get on his back. Brilliant. Cheering when he was subbed is poor form. Did actually do a couple of good one twos with growshitski but he is weak on the ball. Knocked off it too easily. Is he showing for the ball? Cos the midfield two and cb's couldn't find him. It's his job to do this, that's the idea of the formation. Which is ****, imho. Campbell. I didn't think he had a good game personally. That were he went wider and wider and wider trying to get a shot off in the first half only showed he's lost some of his pace. Tried to many flicks and didn't hold the ball up. I expected more. With his fitness problems, which he seems to have, I'm worried for Tuesda. Do you play him and risk another injury?? Subs. Toral. Did he warm up properly. He's no speedster so why did his hamstring go?? Irvine. Can't play wide left. Strange sub. Good in the air but too many flicks to nowhere. Runs funny too. Dicko. **** shot. Stupid push. Aaron mk2. Slutsky. The formation does not ****ing work. The two midfielders are exposed, consequently the defence is exposed. Our defence is poor anyway. Change it now!!! The subs were stupid. Growshitski does not come off. He's a danger. You picked henriksen. Stick with him. Or don't start him. Let's see what Mazuch can do ffs. Hectors a liability. Lets see Tomori at rb. It's clear Aina can't defend. Give Aina a chance at rm. If we don't either go 4-4-2 or4-3-3 against Boro we're ****ed. Badly. If it's a three go Meyler Stewart and Larsson and win the midfield battle.
