Rarely come on here now as uni life is hectic but more word association type games that require a quick post from time to time would keep people on the site

I have been away for a couple of weeks and there is an awful lot to read so read just bits of some, this reply/comment is being made after reading most of page 1 of 3.
stickying .. this was brought up last season " it was said it was to many and to get to read some it was over the page ( or something like that). I monitored it and the result was that new posts and replies were always on the first screen along with any sticky, in fact just 5 lines a day over a period of 3 -4 weeks would have been sufficient, ,I think the most would have been 7.
this was backed up by the fact that only during this time about 11 different people actively made a reply or were seen to be the forum.

this was a very similar trend as last year, so nothing has really changed !
so even if 10 lines were stickied based on the above there would not be much if anything to scroll down?
(I do not use a phone to access this but it could be the restrictive nature of the 4-5" screen means you may only see a couple lines/threads/posts?)
there are 20 thread lines, if 6 were stickied compo's that leaves 14 of these with present, and last seasons traffic,( ave 6 ) it means 6 lines never really get used! ( noted last season )

    compo's
this subject has been raised 2 years on the trot when the number of slots for traffic has increased temporarily due to either posting in advance or needing to post for 3 games in 8 days (or maybe 4 in 10) due to being on holiday/away etc. in this vane I am a guilty individual with 2 compo's and 4 games it would need 8 slots! but only for the time it took the first 2 to be taken down /unstickied,, in fact I delayed putting up all 8 as a lump by staggering up until the day I went, so in theory after the game it was just 2 days, and as said 1 new post would appear!!!!

    threads
Now, assuming there was 2 slots for JGF compo's, 2 for Wiz compo's and 2 for massive .. the current ones? there is 14 slots free. Based on last year, most of the rest of the slots remain "read" especially if you visit the board once a day. Unless like me After 2 weeks away, on my return all but 1 of the first 2 pages needed to be read/looked at! and 11 of them were comp /prediction ones!

I am not making excuses condemning or trying to be a jimmie opposite on opinion, simply pointing out an analytic picture of the situation event.

AS requested last season, I condensed 2 compos into one, so only needed 2 lines as I didn't think it fair , when I continued them on that peeps that enjoyed them should be robbed of a bit of fun and diversity, there is at present/ was? 6 lines needed.
Use of the sticky to post a compo untiL after the games finish seems OK, However I cant agree that a bog standard post should be, no matter how interesting, as if it does have a lot of interest the replies will keep it at the top of the in stickied pile! rule of natural selection

AH speed reading! missed this.... it was a similar comment made by shiny last year, over the same "problem" a glut of fixtures coinciding with holidays, although then having taken over an abandoned compo I did as requested and put it in with the other compo to "save 1 line "....... for the rest of the season and this.

they are occasionally odd "fill ins" and do get a bit of interest for a while, as do the quiz's. when something like this issue, sticky's and compo's comes up, I tend to look at the wider picture, and really it is quite something else!

it is a bit like when I was in primary school, the boy next to me made a mistake and wanted to borrow my new rubber... only pencils then .... previously he had borrowed mine and failed to return it, so I said no, I will rub it out, he was not happy and wanted it rubbed out more, then more and then burst out crying because there was a hole in the page! telling the teacher I had rubbed a hole in the page.
Upon turning over he wrote a few words then started bawling at the top of his voice, teacher said whats the matter David... his reply was he has been and done it again!
