The best fixture we could possibly have got after Spurs away. A lower ranked team still in a high after a totally unexpected overachieving performance at home. If we don't get an easy 3 points win, then we are in even more trouble than I thought.
Nah. He'd cry if anyone gave him a stern look. We do seriously lack a captain in the Gerrard mould - someone who just won't accept defeat and won't let anyone else do either. I don't think Hendo is as bad a player as some on here seem to think, but he's not captain material.
Gerrard was no captain either. His head could drop with the best of them. Imo he gave up on Rogers and got Hodgson the sack for sure and even rumours were him and carragher did for rafa.
At his best, on the pitch, he would have the determination to win, and that is lacking amongst the current lot. I'm not talking about any behind the scenes stuff. It's a bit much to have a dig at him for giving up on BR when almost everyone else on here had the knives out for him as well. Nobody wanted Woy, though I don't like the idea of players downing tools under any circumstances.
have absolutely no idea why but since you can't see this i'm afraid i can't warn you of the ban promised to those who use pics of the Saxton as their avatar .
Yes on that you are absolutely right. He would have the will to win when things were right. As I said though rumours were it was cares and Gerrard who stuck the final nail into rafa. The others... well that's the way it goes. Players have too much power now.
I'd need more than rumours before I'd jump on them for that, though there was a suggestion that Rafa blamed some of his senior players for his poor final season. Not saying I know the truth either way, of course, but I'd have thought it was the relationship between Rafa and the owners that was the real issue and no doubt this made the whole club a bit fractious.
If Couts is out will JK consider changing the formation or just stick AOC up there or , please no , move Firm out wide & stick Studge in as CF.
