Not only happy to see Gunn, Josh and Maddison start. What fantastic experience for them to play here! But they have also been so determined and focused again. No Norwich player has looked Weak.
What a great present for 9000 travelling fans. We won away at Everton last year so here’s hoping. Talking of Everton, is Naismith injured or has he left the club? Grant Holt has scored for Kings Lynn and provided an assist.
Damn! We looked good. Some poor (dumb) passing in extra time - problaby tiredness. Ref couldn't wait to blow the final whistle.
Ryan Bennett has been part of a back 4 that kept Man City out for 120 minutes... I'm waiting for him to step up and smash a winning penalty now.
So unlucky tonight ref was biased. Shame about the missed chances. I don't often say this but I'm proud of the lads tonight. We gave it our all with a small squad compared to Arsenal. Roll on Saturday!
Given the choice between 3 points in the League against Ipswich or beating Arsenal in the League cup I know which I would have taken. Technically we are undefeated in 90 mins still too.
Some of the worst refereeing I’ve seen in a while. Clear throw in not a corner for their second and I can’t believe that wasn’t a penalty. Let alone the red card that should have been given. And those were just the big decisions, so many weak fouls they got which weren’t given the other way. Anyhow, not worth being too bitter - if we’d slotted one of those second half chances none of it would have mattered! No shame in going down 2-1 AET away to Arsenal, and we outplayed them comprehensively until Maddison went off
Great summing up from PD in his report on last night's match - "It was cruel. It was rough justice but we now know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, just what Farke’s men can achieve this season." http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-bow-out-of-league-cup-1-5250674 When you consider 8 of our outfield players had played on Sunday (unlike Arsenal’s team!!!) and yet again the opposition uses niggly fouls to stop JM, then we can be VERY proud of our achievement. Let’s hope the physios etc can get our ‘wounded’ back fit for the visit of Derby and more importantly Wolves!!!!
Just watched replay. The Ref must have been on the wacky backi as he did get it wrong on penalty and Arsenal yellow card on Basil. Clearly had no head to take on the wrath of Emerates and Wenger so bottled out. Magnificent performance pity the Arsenal youngster got up to head home the winner but all in all such a great match. Hope Maddison is fit for the Derby game and there is no reaction from playing two games in such a short time in between.
