Good to see normal service resumed.

    Q. If you had a racehorse and it was having its 200th start wouldn't you be mad keen for it to win?

Anyone else feel that LALOR (2:50) would be odds on if his handler was Nicholls, Tizzard or King?

Well if you believe in racing fairy tales then CAPTAIN SCOOBY will do just that at 33/1 in his 200th race tomorrow. He runs in the 5:00 Yarmouth having trailed in last but one at Windsor today and barely raising a sweat. I think this has been the plan for some time though and wouldnt it be amazing if they were to pull this particular stunt off. I hope he wins and then is retired, go Scooby!

Nice little bumper at Exeter today although the defection of Significant Other does take a little of the gloss off. The Honeyball horse has attracted support and that is no surprise as he likes to have his horses forward enough to win their bumpers. A fact borne out by the stats.
I am interested in a bit of a longshot though and my EW selection is for FS LOLA 28/1. You may remember this ones mum who was a half decent mare trained by Nicky Henderson called Semi Colon. Unsurprisingly she won a bumper albeit at the second attempt.
Semi Colon finished her racing days being trained by Martin Hill and I believe he has kept her for breeding purposes. I understand she has delivered a couple of very nice foals. The first one was sold for decent money and the second is FS LOLA. Her sire is Arvico who although very cheap to send a mare to he does produce some very nice offspring.
Fingers crossed she has some of the family genes on both sides.

Nice card at Exeter in its totality Stick <ok>

Obviously all eyes will be on Yanworth on chase debut (can't help thinking they lost a year with this one by keeping him over timber last season, although I guess even JP has bills to pay). Sternrubin should keep him honest, even though he is a bit wee for chasing IMHO. I'd have kept him as a hurdler / flat handicapper myself but hopefully he gets round unscathed today.

The novice hurdle at 2.50 looks a very decent affair and I like Alan King's runner Harefield at around the 9/1 mark (at least that's what Skybet are showing). Any number in here to keep an eye on though, notebook at the ready.

Great to see the NH season starting to swing into gear. Some nice entries at both Cheltenham and Aintree later this week, including Waiting Patiently in the Old Roan. Very excited about this horse.

Seems to be a lot of 'goings-on' with Malaysian Boleh (5.00 Yarmouth) since moving from Brian Ellison's yard to Phil McEntee's 17th March this year. Out of 8 entries since then he has been scratched 6-times! Again, if the ground turns to full soft, guess he won't run yet again! However, will have a modest punt on the rascal, probably e/w. (around 18/1 atm).

Best of luck to all on Stick's choice.Captain Scooby. Would be happy to see Scooby win at Yarmouth, a course that was once my 'local' track for a few years way back when.

Yes, had some fun at Yarmouth for sure. My true 'local' tracks still standing are Sandown and Kempton, the latter soon to go sadly (Hurst Park, original home of the Victoria Cup) went long ago.

Lucky bugger - while you run in the sun I have to contend with wet leaves, runners nightmare! If I had a Trippel after a run I'd be on the ceiling :emoticon-0104-surpr

Roger Fell had a nice day at Southwell on Sunday and both winners are on show at Newcastle ( Muqarred in the 2.10 and Florencio in the 4.10 ); however, I think both are up against it to follow up today. I am having a go, each way, with one of his, though, Lozah in the Newcastle opener.
One at Exeter that appeals for a win is Sutter's Mill in the 3.50.
Looking forward to see how Yanworth does today, too.

    Good Luck all
