Stunning performance against feeble opposition, shame Monreal had a moment of insanity in the final minutes, all the same.... top class performance!
In THEORY we should go into the Man City match on the 5th of November oozing confidence! Next 3 games ALL at home Norwich EFL Swansea EPL Red Star Europa
We dispatched a poor Everton in style but it should have been an easier task. But it's a good win and we go into next game with confidence. City will be a much bigger beast and Wenger has a good record against Pep.
I would say the two goals we conceded had us written all over them. I just knew we would concede first after missing so many chances in the first 10 minutes - and what a surprise that xhaka once again gave the ball away. The lapse in concentration for the second goal was too ridiculous. Going forward we were great today, and I'm happy wilshere managed to get an assist as well. I know it was against 10 men, but I like him back in the side, we seem to have better flow with him. Ozil and Sanchez were also very very good, and it was nice seeing them play with lacazette for only the first time this season. I cannot believe, however, how poor Everton were. How did it get to this point for them? There was so much positivity about them this summer with the money they spent, but they looked a team completely lacking confidence. I think if they played against us with the same aggression as in past seasons, the result might not have been the same.
Well, they had a man sent off, might well have lost another, and probably got lucky with a penalty no-call, maybe two. They were lucky with the push on Monreal into the crowd as well, maybe. In the first half the commentator I was listening to was oozing praise for the intensity of the pressing, and actually said thay he wondered if they could keep it up. They were also called for a lot of fouls. I know that some of you think you can be aggressive, without risking giving away fouls, and that you can press hard all day without running out of steam, as long as you have enough commitment, but I would have said that Everton needed a bit more cohesion, composure, and discipline, and a little less aggression.
I've been married a long time, its taken a while but I'm just beginning to learn how passive aggression works.
Yesterday Ozil reminded me of the guy when was playing for Real. But why, why do they need a week or two of bashing in the media and internet to finally turn up and show that they can actually play, have balls, legs and desire to win ?????
It's a lot of players nowadays. Look at Everton, a really good team last season, now they look absolute toilet. Every single player is a millionaire yet can't be arsed to turn up. They should be embarrassed at the way they played. I feel for the Everton fans having to turn up and watch that shower of sh1t. That's why i find it hard to get upset when we play **** now. If they don't care then why should i? At least when they go home they have a lap of luxury to go to. I have to work my butt off to keep my family fed and safe.
I was referring to his record against City, which is good. Understandably his record against Barca won't be so good considering it's one of the best teams in history.
Funny thing is of all the teams in the EPL the only team that I can see beating City is us, if we show up. But if we don't we will get a drubbing. I always feel a bit of confidence against City and look forward to an entertaining game.
Am I the only one who thinks Xhaka was fouled in the lead up to their goal? Cos he was you know. I appreciate he's been w*nk pretty much all season but he was caught on the knee. Can only assume the second goal we gave them was a pity thing organised between Nacho and Cech. They both seem nice guys and not ones to kick you when you're down so clearly they were being nice there. Loved seeing that front 3 together. Got another 2 months to enjoy that before we sell both Mesut and Alexis so let's have some fun first!
Well, I wouldn't have given a foul for it because I would have deemed it, "Incidental contact", as it really wasn't enough to bring him down. However in the second half in particular, we got called for a couple of fouls against us that were very similar. So the referee was very inconsistent all game. I still don't know how Sanchez didn't win a penalty right at the start. Kronke is still talking about resigning Sanchez and Ozil, so I guess there is still a small hope. But I think Lacazette will still get better as well, he is just getting used to the PL.
Kroenke is lying if he's saying that. No way either is hanging around, even should we offer silly(sillier) money. We should be looking ahead now for what we do without them.
