we all know what happened last season we had Chris Wood who scored 30 goals, without getting much help from anywhere else. Think Bartley was second top scorer. This season we have Lassoga, Phillips, Roofe, Saiz all scored 4 league goals from only 13 games. More goals more dynamic, more free movement. Plus we lost 4 of those games so an amazing return. One thing to note is Lassoga has only spent a fraction of the time on the pitch compared to the others. Will he be able match the scoring feats of Wood or isnt it as important
I think that the tide has turned we played with much more intensity and in Lassoga and Saiz have natural goalscorers. When you think Boro have spent over 40m on strikers and they failed again yesterday Monk is one step nearer to Holy island I thinmk he will be gone before we play them 19 November
Agree with all you say, Doc, but a small corrective point - Roofe has only scored 3 in the Championship.
Something to make WJ smile Monk has spent over £40mon forwards alone and £5,5m on Howson Theses galactcos have scored10 gaols between them in 13 games .Fletcher who cost £7.5m has scored 1 Bamford £6.5 nil Braitwaite who cost £9mihas scored 2 Gestede cost £7.5m has scored 1 and Assambalonga who cost £15m 6 so Holy Island is beckoning for the Monk and I doubt very much he will be manager on the 19 Nov when we play them We have spent Saiz 3m Grot £750000 Cibricki £1,5mand Alioski£2,5m so naturally I am rather pleased with our signings they can only improve but can Boros?
Love the Boro thing too as Asombolonga cost £16m has scored 6 league goals in 1,150 minutes played. = 196 minutes per goal Lassoga has scored 4 in 584 minutes played. = 146 minutes per goal. I would say we have value for money Lassoga also has 3 assists, Asombolongo 0 assists Our top player for assists last season was Pablo on 8 which got him into the leagues top 10 for assists, O'Kane & Lassoga this season are already on 3 each which is promising as both are in the top 10 so far Samu Saiz has 4 goals so far and 2 assists in 880 minutes played which is a goal every 222 minutes
That penalty’s brilliant doc! It’s good that we’re spreading the goals around. Though we actually did last year in a few games where Wood wasn’t playing. I’m not bothered re monk and boro.. except the two games a season where we play them. Tbh, I think they’ll come good anyway.
Last season Wood took our penalties so that helped his tally, this season Pablo takes them but who takes them when Pablo not playing as Lassoga has always taken them before coming here. If he had taken the last 2 his total would have been 6 goals which is amazing having only played so few minutes. Vydra for example has scored 6 goals but 2 were pens, Grabban taking pens too. If Lassoga had scored those pens he would be a mile ahead of anyone in the Championship with a goal every 92 minutes. The other top scorers are Bonatini 132 minutes per goal Vydra 102 minutes per goal Waghorn 111 minutes per goal Sharp 138 minutes per goal Lassoga 142 minutes per goal or 92 (TOP) minutes with those pens. All the other top scorers are between 160 and 220 minutes per goal and there are quite a few
No shortage of penalty takers in the squad. I was pretty confident in the Burnley game... shoot as klich, alioski, saiz were all penalty takers at previous clubs
