Pulis has won just two games in the last 18 league games, maybe Koeman/Bilic won't be the next manager to go... Their next four games: Man City (H) Huddersfield (A) Chelsea (H) Tottenham (A)
I was contemplating that on the way home tonight. For us, the game against them is only just around the corner. Not unthinkable that we could go there on the back of three straight wins. However, when you throw in LC and EL games, for Everton our match is still some way off it. So for Ron to still be in charge come then, he'll probably have had to turn it around.
Just watching MOTD and commentator Steve Roder says about Huddersfield Town last scoring against ManU from Frank Worthington in 1971. Two things. I remember watching the game on MOTD back then, and then several years being delighted that FW was Saints by Saints in the twilight of his career. He was a great player. Incidentally, that may have been the last time Bobby Charlton featured in a game between the two teams. He was playing for Huddersfield Town, IIRC.
Just reminded me on MOTD that earlier today I heard of Andrew Surman scoring for Bournemouth, and Me and another Saints friend [yes they do exist] waxed lyrical about Surman's time at Saints. Still have the everlasting soft spot.
Absolutely, and when he left it was a rare instance of the player not wanting to go, but having to be sold to raise cash.
Exactly what we said earlier today. We both acknowledged that Andrew Surman could still be a Saint to this day.
Don't think Bobby Charlton played for Huddersfield. Denis Law did, but not Charlton to the best of my knowledge.
My son's first Saints Hero. That Barnsley game and the fact he signed his birthday card when he was about 5. Explaining to him why he was leaving was a tough job We still cheer Drew on now.
