Haven't got time for my normal story telling this week, so straight to the points... Gills 3-0 Northampton Please let it happen for Steve Lovell.
After two really good performances this has win written all over it, so why am I feeling more worried about Northampton than I was before Peterborough or Wigan. I think it is the expectation of winning, in the last two matches a good performance would have been marvellous even if we lost, now the three points are the minimum requirement and a good performance expected as well. Northampton are probably thinking exactly the same, since their thrashing by Bristol they have put in some good performances and have been unlucky not to get more out of some those games. Would be typical of us to struggle in a game like this. Historically we struggle against the bottom sides but Northampton are very shakey at the moment. Gillingham 1-0 Cobblers (List)
I think the biggest potential issue against a win would be overconfidence, but they showed last Saturday (and probably Wednesday, but I didn't see that one) that there is concentration and perseverance in the team. Providing that remains the case I can't see why we shouldn't pick up 3 points. Gillingham 2 - 1 Northampton (Eaves, Bingham)
