Gumball is the clear fave, currently, re The Triumph but I see that one of the horses closest to him in the old market actually makes his racecourse bow tomorrow – GRAND SANCY (5.05 Market Rasen). Unusual for a horse to go bumper and then later in the term The Triumph (many can’t, of course, having already run on the old level) but this avenue also gives connections the option of going the ‘Champion Bumper’ route during 2017/18. Whatever way they decide to go re Grand Sancy this term he looks a horse of immense potential and I think he’ll start his career with a win of the morrow.

Am off to God’s own county, Devon, for a week from tomorrow morn but don’t also miss Yanworth’s debut over the big ‘uns at Exeter on Tuesday. Will he make as good a chaser as hurdler??? We will have our first clue in a matter of days, team.

    Take care.

    3.15 Ascot - Churchill- 9/2

Ok so Ribchester is tthe most likelst winner but is way to short for me with questions over him he is the most consistent at the top level and none of the Horses he has beaten will beat him barring a miracle eg goodwood and the ground! Howver the forecast is wet so the ground will soften up which brings a lot of others in to play like Breton rock etc.. and the ground will be worry of it is soft. Plus the fact he can get worked up and race freely is a worry. In Churchill and beat the bank two Horses he has never faced! Beat the bank has a lot to prove but has been beating G2 G3 horses like a G1 horse should plus the stable is in form. Churchill was the second coming and his run when second to Ulysses was an outstanding run in the juddemoent disappointed in Ireland and can be forgiven! Back to a mile at ascot cut in the ground all he does is gallop he can’t quicken and if ridden from the front he will certainly get a lot off the bridle very early and will be hard to beat

It might sound lazy but why wouldn't you just back all the Aiden O'Brien horses at Ascot - bound to come out in profit <ok> <laugh>

OH THIS IS US 18/1 Ascot 4:30
To be fair to OH THIS IS US you only have to look down the list of horses at who has won his races this season to tell he has been "highly tried". Dream Of Dreams, Lightning Spear, Breton Rock, Ribchester, Sovereign Debt. Its a pretty impressive list. Tomorrow he is back in handicap company and off the same mark he was winning off at the start of the season.
His most impressive piece of form in my view was when being nabbed late by Bravery in the Lincoln back in April. Proof indeed that big field handicaps are his thing.
Ryan Moore was in the saddle that and takes the ride again tomorrow, take the hint people!

Aiden's runners at Ascot - surely at least 3 winners there?

The sprint looks intriguing. Harry Angel should win this but is 0 from 3 on course. I'm reading lots of good stuff on librissi breeze but I'm waiting for chelski. In the book he ticks all the boxes at a price.

Brametot is looking like the winner in the big race for me as stated at the beginning of the thread good run in the arc. It's an open race but some have questions to answer.

Now listen, Oddy, there's no "bound to" in horseracing............it's best to study and lose gallantly. You might even get a packet of chips from PP for an outstanding effort. <laugh>

Have a good weekend. This late Autumn weather down here is just great! <cheers>

Champions Day on the flat, really? Do me a favoor - It's still dark at 7.30am, it's wet, the wind is getting up.

I think we all know the season ended at Chantilly a fortnight ago.

    Ribchester should still win though.

OOSG 1.25, Harry 2.00 & Cracksman 3.50 all to win 12/1 on Skybet. Or all to win by 1 length or more 25s. Lazy betting I know but worth a few quid imo. Good luck all

On a different tack, Watford are overpriced at 8/1, to beat chels£I at the bridge of sorrows at lunch time, hornets won't be going there to take a point when all three are available, ha ha

Will take a chance with Recoletos e/w in the Champion Stakes at Ascot (15:50). Group 2 winner over 1m2f in France this year on very soft ground, so any rain the better for this one. Needs to improve of course, but sire Whipper progeny do tend to do just this. 20/1 with PP and others at time of writing.

I said somewhere, in defence of Librisa Breeze, "Back him every time he runs at Ascot over 7f and you won't go far wrong". It is 6f today so I've gone against him. But, this going could make it feel like 7f. Interesting

Everything OK on Filmon (STD is free, but picture is often in full HDi). Service much better since I got a new PC with Windows 10 operating system, excellent in fact. <ok>

Thanks for that Swanny. It keeps asking me to pay and stops showing though. Tried the non HD but that also asks me to pay after a few mins even though it's under the heading "Free". Maybe I'll watch on TV until the off and then just watch the race itself on Filmon; unless you know how to watch it free.

Have to pick up my grandson now for his football match later. Will catch up on return <cheers>
