My last gout attack was horrendously bad. Enough for me to stop beer, marmite, shrimp and other nasty culprits completely out of my diet. Gout is no laughing matter when even the pressure of air from a swirling ceiling fan causes you intense pain.
Yeah I don't eat the bad gout foods no matter though at times it just comes on bad. My knee is huge can hardly walk.
I was on allopurinol after my last attack for 6 months but it started causing liver damage so I got off it. Just managing it with diet now. Over a year since my last attack. Hopefully never go through that again.
Squash club pint time. Bloody freezing. Got football training at seven and the weather bomb is supposed to hit around that time. Can't wait!
I have been on that stuff for about 19 years . Had my worst case of Gout it was in BOTH ankles at the same time , I have never had a broken bone , but it was pain that is never to be forgotten . Sympathies to those decent posters on here that suffer from it .
Bought myself a pair of selectabells and a striking pad to use in work. The gaffer fetched in a bag as well. He's into his boxing so something tells me I'm gonna be getting hit a lot soon.
What's your pie eating record? I ate 12 in my favourite kitchen and then went to my other kitchen and ate another 9.
My gout is below the big toe on foot, I frequently get hip pain right before my foot swells up and I get that familiar pain... Not sure if related or just a coincidence... They've never checked my hip for uric acid crystals. Had it in both feet but not at the same time. First doctor swore I had a fractured metatarsal (even though x-rays showed now fracture)... 4 fractures in one year seemed a bit extreme... Second doctor identified it as gout and called original doctor an idiot. Kept gout off for a year now... Very careful about what I eat. Make sure I have my cherries, pineapple, and my nettle tea. . Don't eat too much meat, beer, seafood, etc. Keeping it at Bay without the drugs.
Mine started with the inside of my big toe joint , as I have said ,worst attack was in both ankles at the same time = Not a happy Bunny in a BIG way .
Every time I have had an attack (6 total) it has been much worse than the previous one. I'm terrified of what the next one could/would be like. I couldn't walk even with crutches without pain. Swinging my foot hurts like hell even if it never touched the ground. Definitely worst pain I've experienced in my life.
I got to the stage where putting my feet into buckets filled with cold water was an instant relief , but the relief soon went away ...
