Puels biggest problem was we were not entertaining to watch. Cup final and 8th place isn’t bad, if we had been more exciting he may have kept his job. (Nb although going out of europa at the group stage may have been his downfall). Anyway Saturday, we don’t need 3 cb’s as we have Romeu and lemina. These 2 should allow fullbacks to bomb on. Why is this not happening? Please put VVD back on the bench, his short holiday doesn’t seem to have done the trick. Hoedt is more than up to it and deserved to keep his place. Redmond on the bench, boufal to start. Davis is an important player, won’t bring up the ongoing debate. COYR.
Here's Fraser's usual approach to long balls into the box. Or corners. Or shots from outside the box. please log in to view this image
Forester Cedric Hoedt Yoshi Bertrand Lamina Romeu JWP Boufal Long Gabbi Really, really need to win this one. I fear if we don't. At least we found the net last week and hope it sparks Gabbi on and he goes on a run. I'm for dropping VVD as I felt he couldn't have been arsed the last day. If it's still his fitness it's dangerous having him on the team. Boufal needs a run of starts. Tadic and Redmond can't complain about being dropped. maybe it might give them a kick up the backside! I tentatively predict a 2-1 victory
In a team that hasn't been performing, no one can really complain if they are dropped. That said, I wouldn't drop Tadic - I might play him on the effing left though. I wouldn't drop VvD either.
Think it'll end 1-1 but if we score early I'll go for 2-0. No idea if Boufal can play on the right but Tadic has to start on the left. ------------------Forster----------------- Cedric---VVD---Yoshida---Bertrand ------------------Romeu----------------- ------------Davis-------Lemina--------- Boufal-----------Gabbi------------Tadic
Was going to post the same team. Wouldn't be adverse either to Long instead of Tadic or Hoedt for VVD who is either still off the pace or his head is somewhere else.
How about this for a team: ----------------Lemina-------------- Lemina--Lemina--Lemina--Lemina ---------Romeu-----Lemina----------- ----------------Lemina------------------- Gabbiadini----Gabbiadini----Gabbiadini
I just see him as redundant in our team at this time as a third midifelder. The overwhelming majority of the time he is not dangerous with the ball and with Romeu & Lemina in the team we don't need him there to play the simple game that he does. It would appear that Pellegrino has seen this with him taking Davis off for Boufal against Stoke, and him starting on the bench against Newcastle. He doesn't create many chances at all, when you consider the positions he receives the ball in and how often he plays. Of course he has created chances and scored goals, but the rate in which he does so is awful for someone who plays the 8 or 10 in midfield. At the end of the day he's always going to be a popular figure with a large element of fans because he is a good pro and doesn't do much wrong in terms of mistakes. I respect him for that, I just feel he is a big reason why we aren't dangerous going forward.

Saw a message somewhere saying that Lemina may not be fit to play tomorrow and Redmond may not start? No verification of course so don't shoot the messenger. Weather is still looking dodgy.
