Reuters claim Staveley, on behalf of PCP Capital, has valued the club at £303.7m and made a bid accordingly, with £150m promised for new players over two years. Mikhail Prokhorov, net worth around $9bn and current owner of the "for sale" $2bn Brooklyn Nets NBA team, is also allegedly very interested in investing in a PL club.
That Russian chap has about the same net worth as Roman Abramovich. Just saying. Ashley has spent £133m buying out Shepherd and Hall, £129m taking on the club's debts and another £35m is owed to him in 'short-term loans' which came about from the two relegations. So that's £297m he's going to want back as a starting point making the bid of £303.7m in the right ball park. Knowing Ashley, though, he will want another 20% profit (because he's a greedy bastard) so I can see the sale price being in the region of £350m-£360m. That's if someone will pay it of course.
It won't sell firstly cos he'll ask for too much and secondly it'll be out of the frying pan and into the fire even if it was sold .
News coming out that Stavely has put a £300m bid in with a further £300m to be spent on transfers please god let this story be true for once!
