We now have 2 players that are current england 1st team internationals. Now folks think about that .. from were we were to were we are... bit good .. lets hope that is brought back to the league. And we are peppered with international players .. keep the belief starting with battering the baggies!
We had that 18 months ago with Drinky and Vardy. Still Maguire has just got here and looks to have a bright future. Lets not forget all the boys in the u21's and u20's as well.
We'll go above you into 13th with a win tonight, not too bad considering we've played Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and United in our first 6 games. Early days yet.
I'm undecided whether his post was a completely out of context of the thread dig at us. Or whether it is a dig at England that they only pick players from top teams.
Shakespeare finally does something different and we threaten and score. Why the hell didn't we do that weeks ago?
Is one of their youngsters - must be a real confidence boost to know that he isn't considered good to replace a keeper that can't kick the ball without wincing.
Is he their normal backup or do they have other injuries? Like you say, great confidence booster for a young player to be made to feel like he is on the bench just to get used to the atmosphere.
Dunno and don't care tbh - am too disappointed how ****e we are. We've only won once in our last 11 games in the league - must be time for owners to make some drastic decisions.
I understand what you are saying there and as an outsider I could easily say too early to panic, if in your position I may just have a different opinion and think when does it become too late. Hard choice to make for the owners.
Hate playing West Brom ... Pulis and his 'anti-football' ... great equaliser but Mahrez should have had two ... nevertheless he was class and remains our most creative spark... KASPER? ... great shot stopper but gets beat far too often from that type of distance from dead ball situations ... tonight's was rather poor ... not even in the top corner ... Positives ... midfield far more creative and can only get better ...
Thing is that this has been going on for months - after his amazing first half dozen games, Shakespeare has been found out hard. Everyone is running about more and showing passion and all that guff but results and stats show we are ultimately are doing bugger all.
I only saw the first half of the game, but it had to be the worst half of football in the Premier League this season. We looked as though we had decided to keep possession a bit more but just ended up passing for passing's sake. I appreciate it can be difficult trying to break West Brom down but we had no imagination whatsoever, no pace and no tempo. I don't understand why Chilwell didn't start. I like Fuchs, but Chilwell adds far more in pace and is willing to try and go past the opposition. He's our future. On the left flank Albrighton tried to get past opponents and create but we totally lacked pace wide right again. Ndidi was okay in central midfield, but how we miss the energy and tenacity of Drinkwater along side him. With Okazaki out of the side we lacked any real combined pressing high up the pitch. Vardy tried in spells but Iheanacho isn't that type of player. Some on here have said we have the strongest squad we have ever had, so is the problem with the players or the manager?
Severe problems lie ahead, we don't know what to do with the ball and we can't keep putting in performances like that. When we were down here with Pearson our first year back in the prem, the performances were there, but the results weren't. I can't see the results changing while we are performing as badly as we are. This game showed how to beat us easily, we can't break teams down as we don't have enough creativity in midfield. Should have bought that guy called Silva from Sporting in the summer. Mahrez looked better ... once he'd squandered that chance, which shows hes not really putting in the effort all the time tbh. I know we don't historically do well against WBA negative play, but looking at it, we almost lost to a team that came for a point and thats just embarrassing. The only positive i see from this game is when we went to 3-5-2, Chilwell and Fuchs work really well together down the left and having Slimani up top in this formation gives others the emphasis to get in the box for knock downs.
