Yeah I hate those ****s who put their nickname on their jersey. I blame the ****er who started it all. What's wrong with just putting Edison Arantes on your shirt?

Whilst the OP either has his head up his arse or is just trolling, I do love it when people try to wum the Geordies. It's like the scene in Jaws where they realise just how big the shark is...and then realise that they've pissed it off! <ok>

    Don't worry he's a very sick man.

We're used to it on the Liverpool board.

As a United fan I can happily agree with this. Shearer was an all time great, he was a fantastic player and any team in the world would ahve loved him in his prime.

Hernandez has the potential to make himself an all time great, but one good debut season in is not grounds to compare him to a player like Shearer, let alone to favour him over Shearer.

i think that if your taking into account how good shearer was when he was younger you may rember he was lightning quick and was a big powerful lad who could finish with any part of his body from any distance. its a tap in a great header or a screamer from 30 odd yards, he could also lead a team, there wont be another one like him now.

hernandez is brilliant but hes had 1 pl season and heavily relies on his pace and is very lightweight, hernadez is like a young micheal owen except one thing, owen was better at his age. unless hernandez adpats his game to include team work and creativity and develops his upper body strength he wont become a player on shearers level. shearers best ability was adaption when he lost his legs he was still deadly, he used his strength and ariel ability to score.

look at micheal owen now, hernandez is a great finisher but when hes approaching 30 his pace wont be anywhere near what it is now. he needs to add to that, all the great players, fat ronaldo, shearer, bergkamp, zidane, scholes etc all found ways to continue being great players even as they lost there pace/fitness with age. players who dont do this end up like MO, owen was/is a very good player but he isnt classed in the same class as the above and there is a reason for that. MO had the potential to be in the players mentioned but he didnt work hard enough for it, i hope hernandez does because the basics are there.

    I'll humour you.

    Pace: I don't know
    Finishing: Shearer
    Strength: Shearer
    Creativity: Shearer
    Shot: Shearer
    Technique: Shearer

Shearer is one of the best strikers of PL history. Hernandez is a poacher.
