Great atmosphere today. I always go to the Saints away game as near me. Loved it. Big shame we didn't win. Easily the best chances.
The ground or the Home end or the away end for the atmosphere? Could hear Toon Army regularly during game but pretty quiet at times on Sky especially Home fans save for goals and last 5 mins or so.
Lejuene is owed at least one **** up and I'm not too interested in hating on that. ****ing retarded, no doubt, but a mistake every defender will make at some points. Played out of his skin trying to atone for his action. Thought we looked worse without Perez, Gayle looked scared and Shelvey flattered to deceive. Awesome defending though and impetus going forward. I like this team. No, scratch that, I ****ing love this team! Every good result feels like a bonus at the moment and this still felt similar despite the late disappointment. All hail Rafa
Was in with the away fans. Good vibes all round. Home fans were basically mute although the cheered up a bit towards the end.
Exactly. Its been pretty painful watching in recent times. Had a great time today though. I'm liking the new Icelandic'esque chant we're trying to get going too!
Funny you should say that http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...ght-gayle-injury-blow-for-newcastle-1-8806233
The Yedlin decision was massive, but Friend made some bizarre decisions where players should defo have got yellows and didn't, like Romeu. Elliot should have saved the first, really slow to get down. I mean we should have defended better, but Rob will feel he could have done more. The game also really highlighted the severe lack of quality we have upfront. We're the best organised team in the division, and work hard, but we need some premier league class to give other players space. On the balance of play, a draw was fair. Southampton will point to the Yedlin decision, but they should just be happy we gave them 2 goals.
Absolutely - but given the number of times in his career he's done so, its something we should have conscious of - but, to be fair to Lejeune, a difficult split second call - especially when he hasn't played recently and not match sharp
