Anyone's arse now starting to twitch?

I see absolutely nothing to suggest we can turn this around under the current manager. I did read in another thread that as squads go, ours is not among the worst ......while I would dispute that, I feel they are better than results suggest, I sadly feel, Grayson is unable to deal with it....the job is simply to big for him.

So if we get rid of him who do we get? Realistically? Is there anyone who would take it?

Personally I think the players we have are better than the results suggest. We’ve played ok a couple of times and been poor others.

I think we’ll be ok. Based solely on my impetuous optimism!!!

His gestures from the sidelines yesterday looked like a man with no influence and has no power or control over his players.

His decisions and team selections are bizarre.

1-0 down and he takes Honeyman (industrious, energetic joint top scorer) off instead of Cattermole who looked like he'd been out on the piss last night and did nothing.

He looks totally out if his depth. This is a man who was sacked by Leeds and Huddersfield because he wasn't good enough

nope. well get enough on the board for a lower midtable finnish. this seeing nowt to turn things around yet in the last two games we've come from behimd to earn points. something unheard of not long ago. we are now grinding out results despte not playing well. something that shouldnt be downplayed. I think we'll continue to improve gradually. i just don't expect us to magiclly come out and turn on the style out of nowhere. it will be slow and gradual improvement as thy slowly build a bit of self belief. loads of time to do it. still not worried.

Brentford and Burton both have a good chance of beating us.

Havnt won at the SOL in 2017, and managed to scrape a draw with a team that havnt won away.

    The players are ****s.
    The manager is crap.
The owner is a prize bellend..

Saves me some typing, just what my thoughts are.

I also think we might have been guilty of underestimating the difficulty of the league and the damage done to our players' and fans' morale during Moyes' reign of Misery. It'll take time to turn it around.

As for Grayson, I think he's doing ok. His team selection is usually what I'd go with myself or thereabouts, tactics might not be great but I feel like after a bad start we're starting to pull things together.

I've just read Ian Holloway's interview in the Echo (can someone paste please) .worth a read.
He speaks a lot of sense about our home predicament, he knew if they scored a second it was game over as we as fans probably knew.
That's the difficulty we have at the moment at home, if we dont get an early goal the pressure ramps up off the terraces and the effect on the players is tangible.
SG is very experienced at this level and although I'm not a happy clapper and think everything he does is OK I feel when we have our strikers back as we now have, get them up to speed then this early goal thing is not beyond us.
We score most games especially away from home when the team plays with less pressure and we need a settled team, it certainly didn't help that we lost Kone and Browning so late in the week, despite what fans feel about Kone we need a settled back four and for SG to stick too it.
Lots of time to sort this out IMO.

It seemed to me yesterday that our fans are starting to move past the anger stage and are becoming more accepting of the situation, wouldn't be surprised to see home support improving a little bit.

I reluctantly agree that v Grayson is out of his depth. He talks positivly but has not got the standing to attract premiership standard quality players here or tactical nous to move us forward. We are to
enmeshed in a championship struggle and although
I think we'll stay up but not to progress out of this league any time soon.
We are in a right mess and the sooner we are sold the better.

I just don't see anything that fills me with hope to be honest, Our position in this league pretty much sums the current crop of players and the manager. The very heart seems to have been pulled out of the club. Talk of more players leaving in January and we will be recruiting a few more.... less than average players to go with what we have. I would love to feel optimistic, I just can't, As I said quarter of the season gone we are second bottom, haven't won a home game this year...not sure where people get the feeling all will be ok...I really wish I had that confidence.

I agree with most of this but why play a square peg (Jones) at CH -what about Beadling with JOS to guide him. Have been many poor selections from SG and this is not a pop at him I just feel he is our of his depth at the moment. Hopeful that he soon gets his experienced championship life belt on and does'nt get stung at the Bees next week.

grayson makes lots of mistakesbut theres other managers up and down the league making mistakes too. its hardly a league full Jose's. building confidence slowly is the key imo and i think its been evident recently imo.

i do believe he said get a goal and the home fans do the rest. never truer word said prior to the qpr game. wasn't there yesterday so dont know if fans were more forgiving or if they won a point with fans on their back.

im hoping the stay away fans are the boo boys. better for all concerned if they not in attendance imo

Grayson is our best bet atm., he is must now be aware of the magnitude of the task, and must be given time to sort it out, I would personally have liked more youthful enthusiasm injected into the team, especially in our home games but circumstances have prevented this. With our injury list now shortening, the next few weeks should see an improvement in the results, which are frankly embarrassing, especially at home. A couple of wins will be just the tonic, and I have a feeling they are not that far off. Nil Desperandum.

Shows how different the game can look from different eyes. I thought Honeyman did little yesterday at all. Hardly noticed him when he was on. Noticed Cattermole play 3 very good passes and one “take one for the team” which he should’ve (but didn’t) get booked for?? (Strange sentence) (but he was poor outside of that) thought N’Dong was poor too. Grabban offered less than Vaughan. At least Vaughan tries. Grabban was just “let’s get fit and go back to Bournemouth “

Can’t work out why Williams didn’t start. Made such a difference when he came on

I think he’s woefully out of his depth, and he massively underestimated the depth of the rot.

He brought in players we didn’t need and left glaring gaps where we needed bodies.

He has no in game influence and can’t find any consistency or rhythm.

He’s not going anywhere cos Short doesn’t give a ****, we will lose more players in January who won’t be replaced, and for all that I think we will stay up, I can’t say that with any degree of certainty.

Our entire centre midfield is too weak, and include Catts who has disappeared and has no influence on games at the minute.

The 2 keepers are shocking and only Grabban looks capable up top.

He will not try Asoro, Beadling etc and insists on sticking to players who are failing week on week, we are in an appalling state and we are second bottom on merit.

It’s an awful, awful time for us.

Our goalkeeping situation highlights the problem with the way the club is being run. I'd love to know exactly how much profit was made from the sale of Vito after the other 2 were brought in. Did we make money on those deals overall? Or was it a matter of we got 2 in for the price of 1? Either way it shows that the powers that be would rather weaken the team for any marginal gain on the balance sheet, South Shields are ran better than that. Anyway that means cut price options like Grayson and Steele etc will be the limit of our ambition for the foreseeable future. Might aswell get used to it. I don't think it's a matter of there not being adequate managers we could go for it's that's none of them would come in our current predicament.

Oh I’m bothered, but I’m about as far detached from the club as I could ever imagine.

It’ll turn it’s in my blood but at the moment I just can’t let it have the time in my brain I used to, can’t and won’t.
