I'm thinking mainly of when we were playing well under Allardyce, him and Khazri were terrorising defences. Just goes to show he could do it in the prem for a decent team playing well.
I forgot you were an Allardyce hater. We could make Messi look average when we're on a bad run. Don't remember Watmore ever having any stinkers though to be fair, more often than not he was one of the few positives even when we were struggling.
hes proven to be effective against tired legs in the prem but really struggled when starting. i dont call that prem standard personally. his performances shows he isnt yet imo.
every game he started he was poor to be fair. and im one who has championed the lad and still do. but not getting carried away on a super sub. hs still got to do a lot to do to hit top flight standard imo.
To be fair before he got crocked we'd won 3 out of 4 games, and he was a big part in that. It's not just what he does on the ball, having a really direct, pacy winger allows the entire rest of the team to push up more and gave us an outlet. The thing is I think there's currently too much pressure on him to drag us out of the sh*te situation we find ourselves in. We need to moderate our expectations in terms of how much of an impact he can actually have this season.
I remember him playing better than you're suggesting, I don't believe there isn't a single side in the prem that wouldn't benefit from having him on their books.
I have. You said there Isn't a single side in the prem that wouldnt benefit from having him on their books. How?
nob heads turned on his dad on twitter when he was poor starting. is poor showings starting in that league is the very reason our fan base is split on him. youre going from prem standard to on the books. ive already acknowlaged hes weapon from the bench which could see him get a prem move. doesn't mean hes league standard to be starting games. sad his ijury has held him back as he could have been there as he was developing fast and hope everything goes right now hes back. but he wasn't troubling defenders when he was starting games. jm is better btw.he causes havoc against very good fresh legs. as he should be given he's older and more acomplished. but i think by the time dunc has finnished developing hell be the better of the two comfortably
If he lifts his head up when he runs and doesn’t go down blind alleys he might be a decent PL option. Until then I’d say he’s the striker version of Taraabt
His Dad was awesome on twitter - standard response "Thanks for your support"! Showed them for what they are the idiots. Happened again on Saturday when he went through and squared the ball to nobody (when Grabban was busy chasing dandelions or something) they had a go at him - McGeady missed the best chance we had in the entire game and got applauded for it! (I personally applauded both as I can;t see anything but counter-productivity for getting on their backs!)
Remind me who played the through ball for McGeady at the weekend - perfectly weighted? When he got into the box on his left he had little time to do anything other than square it and hope someone had tried to get in there (they hadn't)
Speaking of managers I'm chuffed to see that fraud Craig Shakespeare found out and allegedly sacked. It was shameful how he and some players discredited Ranieri and tried to claim he was some kind of driving force in thier title win. Typical number 2 always gunning for whoever is number 1. May you never work in footy again you slime ball.
Problem is, he's not the only one to discredit Ranieri. He completely dismantled the team spirit at Leicester. This has come from many people, not just Shakespeare. Good number two doesn't necessarily make a good number 1, but nor does it mean he was wrong about Ranieri. I've read in depth about Leicester and Ranieri tore the Spirit out of the squad. The driving force behind Leicesters title win was two years of Pearson and Shakespeare taking direction from Ken Way's sports psychology company who worked very closely with the players. Ranieri sacked this company off at the start of the championship winning season cause he thinks it's some kind of mumbo jumbo. But Way had already developed the bond within the squad and kept the terrorists out. 12 months later they have title winning squad but the rot was already setting in as Ranieri wants them to be 'men'. At least Shakespeare and Pearson knew the value of team spirit(Though they can't take full credit, that's Ken Way's honour). Ranieri thinks it's something mythical like black magic or unicorns. He's an old fashioned closed book of a dinosaur who thinks everybody should just man up. He ****ed up at Monaco in much the same way. Ranieri ****ed it up for himself by scrapping an infrastructure which had become the very core of the playing side running of the squad he inherited.
