Ta for the link El_B... looks better than the ones I currently have, no live timing, no red button = ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hulkenburg Has set the fastest time with a 1.15.948 in the VJM-03 2 seconds ahead of d'Ambrosio in the new virgin Alonso has come in with some engine troubles
I was about to post this as a new thread but then remembered this one...So today is the first day of pre season testing. Today will mainly be about general reliability and gaining an understanding of the new tyres, which should have changed considerable since the Pirelli tyre test in Abu Dhabi - well that's McLaren's excuse for not letting their main drivers take part in the test. Last year, the quickest time was a 1.11.470 - set by Alonso. That was with double diffusers, so the times set last year will be the benchmark for the teams. Let's see if they have recovered the performance that they lost without the double diffuser. It's a real shame that testing is not filmed, but autosport usually do great coverage of the event. This year, they've decided to introduce some sort of "Special Offer" where you must pay ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1.99... **** that! I'm looking around for some good links, and i'll add them when I see them. Here's a few decent ones: http://www.f1today.nl/live-update/2011/02/01/circuit-de-la-comunitat-valenciana.html http://www.motor21.com/formula-1/sigue-directo-tests-valencia-95461/ (in Spanish) http://www.f1-direct.com/include/livegp/we/temp/essais.php http://twitter.jamesallenonf1.com/
And now the picture you've all been waiting for ... Fernando "Most Complete" Alonso performing magic in the F150: please log in to view this image
Quick update on the times: 1 F.Alonso Ferrari 1.15.371 2 N.Hulkenberg Williams 1.15.948 3 K.Kobayashi Sauber 1.16.354 4 J.D'Ambrosio Virgin 1.17.991 5 G.Paffett McLaren 1.18.223 6 J.Alguersuari Toro Rosso 1.19.183
Some websites always do that, they must not update a database or something they have as they must have a system that automatically enter the team for that driver.
So current pecking order of the new cars is : Ferrari, Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull and then Williams. It'd be very interesting if it stays like that - something tells me it won't...
Nico Rosberg causes the first red flag as his car has cut out on the track. I wonder if they will be doing this alot like they did last year, running out of fuel on purpose and causing red flags
They were using the yellow paint before the engine trouble. I presume they are looking at airflow on the rear wing ready for the upgraded version
Anyone else loving the fact that, despite all the money in F1 - the best solution was bright yellow paint?
Fernando Alonso schools the field with his latest lap, a 1.14.718. Apparently, Alonso is deliberately slowing down on the main straight, every lap, according to AMS... Link: http://twitter.com/TheF1Blogger

Hulkenburg does a 1:13.938 As much as I want Di Resta to do well, I secretly want Hulk to set a quicker lap time.
