With pin two posts you say some of the things ctwd said at the meeting was a reason not to publish and then you can't remember what. Go to see the first list on the thread and get back to me. Because it's bloody obvious why any ctwd at that meeting didn't want it published. No idea what you name about inter company loans, is that net? Why are so many clubs in massive debt if it's a piece of piss this ownership lark.
Assem Allam had a buyer lined up for the club before he bought it. Getting the freehold for the stadium which would have given him a multi-million pound profit. If the Council had given him the freehold he'd have sold the club shortly after he'd bought it.
There was some discussion about taking out what the club wanted taking out. There was very little discussion about taking out anything specific we'd said, but there may have been some. There was no discussion about taking out things we'd said because we'd "sucked" up to him. The discussion was about publishing with the stuff the club wanted taking out or publishing in full. We decided not to publish them. 11 pages have shown why it was a good idea, at least for me. CTWD achieved our objective. The worst that can be said about the people at the meeting was some of them wanted fan ownership and some of them sucked up to the man that had just saved Hull City and got us promoted. The interest paid by Hull City is income to Allamhouse. It is gross and Allamhouse would be subject to Corporation Tax on it, if they made sufficient profits. Although some of Hull City's tax losses have been used for the benefit of other group companies to offset corporation tax they would have paid. Ownership isn't easy, as the Allams have found out. I don't pretend it is. I think it is better having football clubs owned by supporters than some rich man or woman, whether real or pretend.
There was no discussion about not publishing based on anything we'd said. In fact, quite the opposite, at the time CTWD were being accused of being anti-Allam and we thought it would help counter that.
Yes and I have never had any issue with the Allams making money out of their ownership of Hull City. I was just responding to the suggestion that they've spunked a load of their own money during their tenure, they've either got it back already, or are close to doing so and will leave the club having made a very substantial profit.
You seem to be the voice of reason Obadiah , always impressed with your replies even to people taking the piss
A fascinating thread and thanks a million for posting Lambo. There is a possible scenario that I've been wondering about whilst reading the posts and that is whether or not our beloved leader, Dr Papa, could be done for slander?!! I presume he couldn't be done for libel as he didn't write any comments about the council but, if he did accuse HCC members of being "liars and cheaters", and if said members were to decide to take action, then matters may become quite delightful. #allamsout
What lecture? It's a forum and I recall there was much opinion and discussion. The Allan's came under scrutiny when there was reasonable cause; nothing less simple than that. You are and always have been welcome to your opinion - not that I particularly recall you from then. If you told me he was a massive cock, back then, then well done; you're obviously someone of deep and serious judgment who we should all pay more attention to. But then again...
He has a water tight defence. He can say he actually said the Council were 'Lions and Cheetahs' but this was noted incorrectly due to his Arabic accent. And the fact he and all his offspring are African will lend weight to his version.
Assem Allam had a buyer lined up for the club before he bought it. Getting the freehold for the stadium which would have given him a multi-million pound profit. If the Council had given him the freehold he'd have sold the club shortly after he'd bought it. Eh??? Never heard that. If he had why didn't they just buy it in the first place. Sorry don't believe it.
Its up to you whether you believe me. I had it confirmed from two sources, one directly, one indirectly in a roundabout way. Both sources were in a position to know. If the freehold would have cost £10 million and the profit was only £5 million, he'd be an idiot to buy it wouldn't he?
So basically these mysterious buyers pulled out once they knew there was no freehold?? AA must have gone to them then and said what about a joint effort with the council?? You still up for that mysterious bidder??? Hello hello Ehab ffs they've hung up on me.
I don't know who the buyers were. I didn't ask the person I was talking to. Once upon a time you'd have thought it too far fetched that Assem Allam fell out with the Council because Brady allegedly went back on his word to give him the freehold. Many people thought it too far fetched that the Council offered a joint venture to develop Allam's vision for a sports village.
