@Qwerty Wouldn't Denmark be above Northern Ireland? Got Croatia, Italy, Switzerland/Portugal who all surely will be?
Seeing Argentina struggling in the qualification stage brings back memories of their lovely neighbours, Brazil, who also limped through qualification for the 2002 final stages. And what was outcome? So the moral is get your money on Argentina for 2018. Personally, whoever beats Germany en route to the final or in the final will win it.
They kick off against Ecuador in around an hour I believe, though I think they may need another result to go their way too? Really hope they get through, wouldn't be the same without them.
I see what you mean. Sorry about Wales, Saint Helen. My son went with his Welsh chums and was very disappointed for them.
Easily done. Good job you weren’t going... Also, I took my eldest when he was 4 to the evening Palace game a few years back, think we won 1-0. I know it was late but evening games have a different feel and atmosphere for me and he was blown away with the lights and all of it. Personally I wouldn’t take him younger and I was v tempted but depends on the child I guess
True, though an extra day in south America wouldn't be too bad I suppose Funny you say thar about evening games too, was having the same discussion with a mate who said that might be best bet, as there's nothing quite like reaching the top of the stairs to see the floodlights and the pitch. Even now I find it kind of special.
That was exactly it. I had told him we were going to Southampton as I had to pick something up (we live in Basingstoke) and went and had a bite to eat. We hen went to the ground and his face was totally amazed when we got to the ground. And the bit that blew him away was the colour of the grass and the brightness of the lights as you get to the top of the stairs. And yep, that bit still gets me. My younger son just turned 3 and he is a real handful and won’t be going with him for a year at the very least!
The magic of the green pitch under the lights for an evening game .. still gets me now, let alone when I was a lad.
Just to mention to TLL about an away game with a youngster.... my lad was 5, having already done a few home games. We did Wolves away for the 6-0 win. I can tell you that he was a little concerned by the noise particularly in the concourse and toilets pre-match. It can sound a little more intimidating at an away game and I was worried that it was going to put him off. By the end though, "Ring of fire" was ringing around my Wolves supporting mate's car
Oh, so you went for a curry after the game? Actually, I can imagine it being intimidating for a nipper, imagine we’d lost! Anyhow, back to winning ways on Sunday. We gonna beat hem by the score years back when Mark Hughes scored a trademark volley...
Funny how we all still love that feeling at a night game... Shows how some things stay forever. Infact though I'm not planning on doing many home games this season I will make my next one a night game, anyone know when we have one? And flt, agree 100% regarding away games. Probably won't take him to one of those for a fair few years yet
Well I bet those Wolves fans weren't happy And yeah I'll take that score. Alan Blayney to come to our rescue with a Banksesque save from a Shearer header
