Good Morning Everyone Great article by Phil Hay in this Mornings YEP about how our four loanees we have out on loan are fairing. Do you agree? Leeds United’s loan quintet enjoying mixed fortunes I haven’t been happy with my performances. I’ve been looking for my confidence in games and in training. It was a while ago that I played competitive games but I still feel I’ve got so much more to give. Leeds United’s Marcus Antonsson - on loan at Blackburn Marcus Antonsson, Leeds’ Swedish striker, is one player whose prospects at United are less than hopeful but the finishing which earned him a move to Elland Road last year has shown itself at Blackburn Rovers. Three goals in eight league appearances have helped keep Blackburn in League One’s play-off positions during the first two months of this season. United sent Antonsson on a season-long loan to Ewood Park in early August, before the chains of deals which saw Chris Wood join Burnley for £15m and Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Pawel Cibicki and Jay-Roy Grot arrive in his stead. There were opportunities for Antonsson in pre-season but a wasteful appearance in a friendly at North Ferriby United in July all but drew a line through his name. Antonsson, who has been field as both a striker and a winger by Tony Mowbray, opened his account for Blackburn in a 3-0 win over Rochdale, his fourth appearance for Rovers. “I really needed that,” he said afterwards. “It was a big relief to slide on my knees in front of the fans. “I haven’t been happy with my performances. I’ve been looking for my confidence in games and in training. It was a while ago that I played competitive games but I still feel I’ve got so much more to give.” Over on the west coast of Lancashire, Fleetwood Town have not been demanding much more from Lewie Coyle. The talented right-back has been ever present under former Leeds head coach Uwe Rosler, collecting a streak of man-of-the-match awards decided by supporters’ votes. Coyle, 21, was on the cusp of breaking through at Leeds when Rosler was briefly in charge at Elland Road and United see him as a future first-team right-back. He signed a new three-year contract before leaving on loan and will spend the whole of this campaign with Fleetwood, one of last season’s beaten semi-finalists. Notable blips came in home defeats to Southend United and Charlton Athletic, matches in which Fleetwood conceded seven goals, but Rosler’s side are three points short of sixth place in League One with a game in hand over every club bar Blackburn. Elsewhere, Mallik Wilks has contributed to Accrington Stanley’s early push for promotion from League Two, making what he described as a “dream start” to his half-season loan. The 18-year-old scored on his debut in a 2-2 draw against Notts County and came off the bench to claim the decisive goal in a 2-1 win at Chesterfield, earning him the tag of “super sub”. “I’m happy to help the side in whatever role the gaffer wants me to but it would be nice to show what I can do from the start,” Wilks said. The forward duly started and scored again as Accrington beat Middlesbrough’s Under-23s in the Checkatrade Trophy last month. Accrington are third in League Two, far above Port Vale where Leeds’ left-back Tyler Denton has experienced harder times. Denton has been a regular for Vale, playing eight times, but Michael Brown was sacked as manager two weeks ago and Vale are joint bottom of the division with five points. Denton’s first taste of a full year at senior level looks set to result in a relegation fight and a scrap to keep Vale in the EFL. Luke Murphy, on loan at Burton Albion, was well warned of a tough season ahead after taking up another chance to work with Nigel Clough and a club who are trying to exceed the sum of their individual parts in the Championship for a second time. Burton have given Murphy a run of games, something Leeds have been unwilling to offer him for some time, but while the midfielder avoided Albion’s savage 5-0 defeat at Elland Road last month, their two games before the international break ended in 4-0 defeats to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa.

Leeds United have huge plans for loaned-out full-back Lewie Coyle, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. The newspaper claim the Championship promotion hopefuls regard Coyle, 21, “as a future first-team right-back” even though he is not part of Thomas Christiansen’s plans for this season. The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Coyle has made a huge impression while on a season-long loan at League One Fleetwood Town, collecting a series of man-of-the-match awards decided by supporters’ votes. The right-back’s 11 appearances for the third-tier outfit have yielded an impressive four assists, three of which have come in the league. Coyle signed a new three-year contract with Leeds that runs until 2020 before he went out on loan.
Morning all... Can't really see the loanee players coming back and playing a part in the future, maybe Mallik but next season might still be one too soon. Edit.. Forgot about Coyle, didn't realise he was loaned out.
Leeds fans have been queuing up to take pot shots at Christiensen following their latest loss at Hillsborough last Sunday. please log in to view this image Gert-Jan @gert_jan7 Incredible .. O'Kane not fit and Vieira also but both in the squad? Should start Klich .. and why no Anita? Strange coaching imo. #lufc https://twitter.com/lufcdata/status/915334309879435264 … Hearing that O'Kane played with a cracked rib on Sunday. If that's the case why wasn't he rested and replaced by someone like Vieira? #lufc — Harry Shillito???????? Aguero is out for up to 2 months with 1 broken rib! I like TC but think he's got this one massively wrong. please log in to view this image Chris Taylor @LUFCDATA Martin O'Neill: "Eunan O'Kane has cracked ribs but he played with a pain-killing injection for Leeds at the weekend." please log in to view this image Miquel @MichaelWall1 I wouldn’t be happy if I were Vieira or Klich please log in to view this image Chris Taylor @LUFCDATA Martin O'Neill: "Eunan O'Kane has cracked ribs but he played with a pain-killing injection for Leeds at the weekend." please log in to view this image CM @chris_lufc1 It's the clueless coach please log in to view this image Adam Pope @APOPEY ROI boss Martin O'Neill says Eunan O'Kane played for #lufc at Sheff Wed with cracked ribs. http://www.rte.ie/amp/909112/ please log in to view this image Terry O' Brien @tobtipp Bravery aside......he shouldn't have played with an injury of that significance. Thought the point of a Squad was not to have to play injured players please log in to view this image diddlysquat @markrikko Replying to @McClumsy84 TC seemed to me to be a cautious coach,If you’re not 100% you won’t play. Strange decision. As you say though, will all come out soon enough please log in to view this image Stuart Grant @McClumsy84 Would have thought a fit Vieira or Klich would have been better than a less-than-fit O'Kane. Strange risks taken in professional sport. please log in to view this image Stuart Weinstock @StuartWeinstoc1 That's why Okane was dreadful then , worrying fact is why TC didn't trust Vierra please log in to view this image Kim Robert Lund @Lund1993 No excuse, should not have played. Was horrendous. please log in to view this image James Gibson @Jimmypeak62 Big question about TC's management rationale to play an injured player who performed so badly. Awful decision and very costly. please log in to view this image Austin @AustinLDN86 Imagine trusting Wiedwald in goal but not trusting Vieira to deputise for EOK when he has cracked ribs. #LUFC
It has come to light that Wiedwald played the game with two broken arms, even allowing for this he was still ****!
Neither the dressing room has never looked better for atmosphere TC mad an error as simple as that but he his not a bad manager
Good morning to Matt and co from a very sunny Cote de Bardsey I have just been thinking quietly, as Moe as gone out with her sister for the day, about the awful atrocities in Las Vegas and what needs to eradicate this happening again. Surely the sale of rifles and guns must be stopped whatever the constitution states as we have seen normal people can go mad with an automatic gun in their hands
so a broken player playing in pain with cracked ribs is still better than what you have left I'm sure theyre happy
If a player doesnt tell the staff that hes in pain or tries to hide an injury as he doesnt want to lose his place?
it its not obvious on the training pitch and in the game how crap is he when fully fit. Broken ribs are agony and you can hardly breathe... FFS If he has covered it up he needs fining a couple of weeks wages. Same as you and me he has a responsibility for his own health, safety and wellbeing.
Were they broken or just cracked ? Massive difference pain wise, but shouldn't have played either way,he will have been conscious that a bang could result in a broken rib going into a vital organ and possibly killing him.
good afternoon it seems the wolfies do not like away fans cheering there team on.have a read at this article and what are your views ? what are they scared of. https://www.expressandstar.com/spor...-fans-moved-at-molineux--with-nunos-approval/
He had a painkilling injection so he could play. That must have been sanctioned by TC and administered by the clubs medics.
I was about to say exactly the same. It's interesting how this only came to light from his national coach.
Agreed just being devils advocate, but LoL says he had a painkilling jab which means they did know ffs.
