Typically it horsed down for our last 2 days, apparently the first time it rained in Majorca since the end of June.
However we had a great family time, although grandchildren nearly killed me.
    Have a good one R&W.

Don't get me wrong , I didn't dislike Ayling , I'm just pointing out my belief at times his defending was not good, his positioning defensively was suspect, If he was stronger in these areas he could have played at a higher level.
Like you pointed out football is all about opinions, it's why we all love it and the whole point of this forum is for us all to discuss those opinions.
After all we love BCFC on here COYR

Banks , out of interest do you believe Ayling was a good defender , who didnt have suspect defensive abilities , or that he's his ability going going out way his defensive weaknesses?

I thought that we weren't as solid at the back at that time as we are now, his requirement to HAVE to get forward to support a much poorer side going forward did sometimes expose weaknesses at the back and a lack of pace back there. I do not believe that was Aylings fault and you won't find the Leeds fans complaining about his defensive abilities. He would have fitted in the current side we have much better, I aways believed he was a better player than Adam Matthews and LJ decision to sell him really annoyed me.

But hey ho, he's gone and fortunately we have Pisano who looks really good to me and the balance that we needed between defending and attacking and Bailey Wright having the shirt currently and not doing much wrong at all.

From 'somerset live' not the stats of a weak defender!

"Luke Ayling has established himself as one of the most reliable defenders in the Sky Bet Championship.

Ayling completed his switch to Elland Road last summer and quickly established himself a key part of the Leeds side.

This season, under new manager Thomas Christiansen, Ayling has found himself deployed in a back four with the likes of Liam Cooper, Pontus Jansson and Vurnon Anita, a system which appears to be suiting his game perfectly.

In their opening five Sky Bet Championship fixtures, Ayling and his teammates have conceded just two goals as their unbeaten start has seen them rise to third in the table.

But there is another statistic that proves just how tight Ayling and his Leeds teammates have been so far.

In five matches, Leeds’ keeper Felix Wiedwald has been forced to make just six saves.

Was with you all the way there until you tried to suggest Leeds defensive record purely down to Ayling , personally prefer Pisano , Mathews the season whilst on loan was better , but as we all know was crap when he came back

    I didn't suggest it!

I took it from a media report and where does it say it was purely down to Ayling??

So essentially you admit we were not as solid at the back as we are now, but suggest this was nothing to do with Ayling , and then search around for 'facts' to back this up. How about we are more solid partially due to the fact our defenders are actually better ?

You clearly didn't read and / or understand the post?

Plus I will ask again, where does it say it was purely down to Ayling??

Making stuff up doesn't enhance your opinion does it.

I've no idea m8 , u tell me I don't make things up, I admit you didn't say it wad purely down to Ayling , I read it that way but reading back through can see u didn't actually say that , however u did say we were not as solid at the back , but went on to say you didn't think it was his fault , I merely posed the question that maybe the reason for that is our present players are better, however I will not stoop to personal abuse or try to prove you wrong just accept we have differing opinions both of which are equally valid.
    Enjoyed the debate though

Another member said this the other day, '' Now if you want to carry on bickering that's your decision, but life's to short and this forum has gone pig **** because everyone wants to be the "told you so" and that's if LJ is successful or a failure.

' Whether it concerns, Matthews, Ayling, Freeman or Engval'.

    By christ he was right.

It would help if you read the post correctly and responded to what I actually stated, and if the above is insinuating personal abuse. Well I simply cant see any?
