Fantastic quotes. This man really gets it. I can see why he has been so successful in business. We definitely need an Amit chant. 'There's only one Amit, there's only one Amit, Amit. etc'
that makes good reading Northolt, am well chuffed that Amit is back. I thought today would never come, lets see what wonders NW can pull off in the transfer market now!
What a truly uplifting article! So glad to have Amit back involved, I really didn't think that we'd see this day. Thank goodness we can finally put Bernie and Flavio behind us once and for all! Come On You Rs!!!!
I suspect there will not be Christmas Cards between Amit and Bernie / Flav. However, IF we do make it big time one day, perhaps Bernie / Flav will receive giant sized QPR Christmas cards that year!
They deserve a full house and I'm sure that there will be a cracking atmosphere. 15k for our first game back in the Premiership after 15 years was embarrassing.
For QPR, Amit Bhatia is the best thing since the invention of the hoop! Not even 24 hours back in post and he's communicating, putting us in the picture without revising history to suit or otherwise deceiving us. Straight away he's thanking us for our support and showing us his summer was no better than ours owing to 'circumstances' as he so diplomatically puts it. Most importantly, knowing how we feel about it all, he makes abundantly clear that the Goons have gone, lock, stock and with barrell still oozing the fumes of burnt money... Lakshmi Mittal is at worst an Indian Ecclestone, a massive player in his own field with no real interest in football. The difference is that not only does he admit it and keep clear, he leaves a quality rep in charge who does a sterling job. Amit Bhatia, still a young man, is already gaining recognition as a philanthropist. A man of integrity whose presence alone does much to restore the charisma and good name of the club. So what was all the fuss about when he resigned... why all the 'moaning and groaning', 'doom and gloom'? Because for so many of us these days, losing Amit Bhatia is akin to removing the 'R' from Queens Park Rangers. That 'R' is in every way the jewell in our crown; our religion; our reputation; and without it we've seen what happens: an incessant burning anger that permeates every part of the club and its support - even down into the very words written on here 24/7. Yesterday that 'R' was finally put back where it belongs - and today We R QPR once again. Give thanks and woe betide anyone who would ever again rob this precious little club of ours of its pride. Welcome home Amit Bhatia!
Brixton, I have to say you have a way with words mate. Great post. You almost a tear to me eye there!
What a great read! This explains a whole bunch of things we have wondered about for months now. I was particularly interested in the quote "Last season I was very much the one guiding the club along with Neil Warnock until Flavio and Bernie did get involved again." As I recall things were going fantastically well until around the time Ecclestone said 'I', only here to help Neil'. After that it was always much more of a struggle on the pitch even though NW managed to guide is to the winning post in the end. Coincidence? I think not.
Then there was the bit where Briatore came back in and it was all Lippi, Jol etc.. Talk about gratitude! Tbh, I do think Eccles and Paladini stopped Briatore from swinging the axe again.
Brixton, you have encapsulated the feelings & emotions of thousands of hoops fans in that one line, Spot on my friend!
