Certainly seems that way - I missed following our match as I went for a swim instead after work and was really hoping to see an R's win on the board upon my return, so really disappointing. Too bad our injury time goal couldn't have counted as a late equalizer, rather than a consolation goal, although it seems we still almost made it 2-2. I see Fulham's penalty kick woes against us continued, so another let of for us.
its so so sad this means at least another three seasons in this division.most probabley we lose smithies to huddersfield at the end of the season, its all so sad we will outdoubtabley also lose loungo and whealer as we keep grade one turkeys but as long as we have beautiful beth we can re build our team spirit
The thing that we all need to understand is that this is a sport and the idea is to win and get better each year. Do not agree with comments of 'not ready', 'not good enough', 'we need to rebuild' and so on. If we are not better than last season "hollow' has failed. Plenty of other teams in this division that haven't spent and seem to do better?
Didn’t say not good enough, we are just middle of the road championship club & not good enough to go up & not bad enough to go down, we will do better than last season but still lack that goal scorer that will push us further up, we are in a transition & will take time whether with Holloway! Or without, time will tell.
Few have spent as little as we have. If he was responsible for that then may be you have a grain of a point but otherwise it's the failure of others who control the purse strings surely?
Perhaps we are no better off in terms of league table, which of course, is the bottom line, but it seems to me that Holloway has succeeded in putting together the bones of a team that give a **** and have the ability to turn defeat into a point, and on a shoestring. I'll take that at this stage, and I reckon by the end of the season, we'll be in a significantly better position. I accept, however, that this opinion is based on what I read, I've not been to a match in a while.
Yes. The football purists have been pleasantly surprised by the spirit in this team and the amount of football they play as opposed to pure hoof ball. It merely proves the point which most of us have made over the last few years. You can't buy success by spending bucket loads on reputations. Every so often someone like Vardy is discovered in non-League football and bargain basement. Like all managers, Holloway is a bit hit and miss in his transfer dealings - plenty of success in his time in buying players and plenty we choose to forget and wish never kicked a ball for us. I'd rather him doing the buying though than someone like Redknapp or Hughes. In terms of future targets, we could do a lot worse than look at Nakhi Wells again. I know we can't afford him but a loan deal for now? As I recall, Harry didn't rate him but did think he was a good boy in that patronising way he had You know the one where he agrees with you and you know he is bullshitting you. He wouldn't be the first shining gem to be not appreciated by that old con man. The last two got us up all those years ago
TeD's back. Let's have a poem about Bolton. Solid Lancashire cotton town, home of brothers Vernon and Peter Kaye, sons of Allo Allo actor Gordon Kaye, also Home of Umbro. There's a few factoids to get you started.
