On this occasion you're right - there's really no negative about us giving him the new deal - but this often touted image of the Allams being in such a difficult position because the nasty fans just complain whatever is very generous to them.
You know as well as I do the contract is to add value to an asset to sell in January. It's not about dammed if you do or dammed if you don't. I'm not obsessed with the Allam's like a lot on here but it's obvious what they are doing. This manager will get sacked soon as the desperation and fear kicks in and then the new man comes in and by an absolute miracle takes us up on the cheap they will stick around indefinitely. But we all know when we don't go up and after next years last parachute payment they will be gone.
Bowen didn't have to sign it did he? And he could still leave in January couldn't he? You and others seem to be conveniently forgetting that. The kids happy here and has signed a contract. Unlike that **** Tymon.
Exactly. The kid is the only shining light this season and has been rewarded and he is happy to sign. I hate the Allams as much as the next man but for once can't we have a thread that is good news for Hull City. If he does go in January (which I don't think he will) then so be it. Well done Jarrod you deserve it
I get what you're saying - it's a sad state when virtually everyone is looking for an ulterior motive whenever a rare snippet of good news for City arrives ....... it's ****ed mate.
It is sadly and I wont be going on Saturday as most of my friends wont either. My old man will go because he has been going for 50 years so its a routine for him and I'll talk to him on Saturday night. Nothing that comes out of the club for me is positive can't see anything nowadays as anything other than an alternative motive. I was down in London recently and friends and colleagues said to me your club is absolutely ****ed and what's going on with your current owners. I couldn't agree more. Sorry.
Haven't read the preceding pages but the motive is to maximise transfer income from him, so he will sell whenever he feels that is. Allam's have admitted as such. If that sounds negative then maybe it is, but I can't think of anything positive about this transfer policy. I don't even think it will help Allams recoup, so they'll bugger off quicker now. Not when saleable assets from the academy start to come through.
Bowen has been valued by the Daily Mail's scout at £4.5m. Presumably it's the blonde hair and blue eyes that bumped it up. No politics? Fine.
I couldn't agree more Chazz, but you can't get away from the fact that the reason he was offered a new contract was for financial gain purposes, not for football related matters.
Ehab will be kicking himself for letting Tymon get away so cheap. As said many times they may be ****s but they are not daft and getting Bowen on contract increases his value.
I think they royally ****ed up with Tymon, Enob thought he would be clever and get him on the cheap and it back fire on him. Hence the Bowen move not to make the same mistake again. Most clubs offer new contract to players for footballing reasons first, and secondly any financial gain. These owners do it the other way round.
Would they not be the same thing, if we were owned by someone else? Of course, we aren’t owned by someone else - which is the African elephant in the room.
All players at all clubs are given contracts for their owners financial gain or protection.... Don't let the football reasons cloud the judgement! If a player isn't worth money or the money spent on wages they don't get a contract (financial reason) if they are good enough they get a deal to stop them leaving for free (financial reason) or they are on form and owners know they are worth more with a longer contract (financial reason) OK getting then on a longer deal is better for the team and will help the team finish higher, go further in cups etc.... But again that has a financial reason behind the football reason Football is a global business, a huge Rich global business and 99.9% of decisions made are for financial reasons these days
Of cause depends on which owners, but I think there probably is a difference between being owned by an owner who is also a fan, who probably buy players to strengthen the team, as well as owners that are looking to improve the club. I actually believe under Assam Allam/Bruce era was the case. Since boy wonder has taken over, and hence Bruce's departure, he is buying player with the view of selling them on first and foremost.
