what an unbelievable lot of rubbish being shared on here this morning, you'd think we were bottom with one point from ten games ... this is what I hate about Leeds fans, that fcuking inability to pull together and stay positive MANAGER actually, he got his tactics and selection spot on, the problem was he had players who let him down ... take a good look at how we played them in the second half, and you could see them start to panick, even argue with each other as Tommy's tactics started to take hold ... errors and players off the pace hurt us, not Cardiff WEAK LINKS Hernandez, Phillips and Roofe ... all three weren't mobile enough, although Roofe fixed this in the second half ... Hernandez and Phillips were strolling when the tactics called for lots of movement to drag their big lumps around ... with Hernandez being so slow and static, it made it easy for Bamba and Bryson to keep him quiet because they never had to move too far to kick him Phillips was sleepwalking, and if ever there was a case for never picking him again then last night he did his best to make it ... he resembled a statue stuck in no man's land, and that horrible trait of laziness was there for all to see ... a dreadful performance, hopefully he looks back on this with embarrassment and rethinks his approach to every game ... we can't use the "he's still young" excuse because we know he can be a ninety minutes player, he simply didn't fancy it last night and that's criminal ... so much for being our "enforcer" Roofe tried to play like Wood in the first half, staying touch tight to their centre backs and making it hard to get him in the game ... in the second half he started to drop deeper, dragging Mangala out of position, bringing others into advanced areas and suddenly we were able to get in behind them ... Berardi's glorious chance was a great example of how Tommy's "mobile tactics" could rip them open ... unfortunately being a man down and Phillips stuck in the centre circle meant we were that one runner light in the second half to exploit the gaps that opened up COOPER AND FELIX sorry, but last night's red card doesn't make Cooper a terrible defender ... yes, it was reckless and stupid getting sent off, and Tommy will let him understand in no uncertain terms that this is unacceptable ... Wiedwald is our number one, please take down your Rob Green posters from your bedroom ceilings and get over it ... we have a keeper for the long term who is only going to improve, so support him POSITIVES Klich, apart from his slip, was solid and had to cope with their midfield single handedly as Phillips went AWOL ... I can only see him getting better for us, a real asset ... Pennington looked solid, he carries the ball well and is a unit, and he will do well alongside Pontus ... when the team did get their passes together Leeds looked quality, and on another day it could easily have been a very different result OVERALL look, I was as fcuked off as you that we lost to Colin W@nker and his team of anti footballers, but this will happen in the Championship if everyone doesn't turn up from the first whistle ... however, we weren't dominated and battered ... this team of ours has plenty of quality, that's for sure, we just need to cut out the lack of effort that Hernandez and Phillips showed last night ... intensity is vital, and it is a difficult thing to keep going week after week, but our players will learn that you can't drift around in this league because teams with less quality will battle you off the park given half a chance ... Ipswich fought to the end and we matched them, last night they ripped apart a team who didn't match their fight Sunday is huge now, and I expect a well rested Lasogga and Saiz to bring that energy back to our performance ... Pennington will probably come in for Cooper, Anita for Berardi, O'Kane and Vieira/Klich our holding mids, Alioski/Saiz/Dallas our attacking mids and Lasogga causing Lees problems ... then again, Tommy will take a good look at his players and hopefully we have an eleven that flies out of the traps on Sunday Radz is God
So he had a bad 1st 4 games, what if we got rid of every player who didn't play like Messi from the first whistle of the first game? Is the red card statement based on anything other than your opinion? He may have had red cards but he is clearly not a player you like so the amount of good or bad games is open to debate. The majority of Leeds fans seen to like him. I imagine you sat there with glee last night thinking about how you could come on here and be negative and miserable. What pleasure do you take from being a Leeds fan? None from what I've seen. Negative when we lose, negative when we win. The ultimate wum I've been dragged in by again
Billysstatue. Really, Warnock's Anti footballers !! You mean the team that totally played you off the park last night, playing very attractive football. Headlines not mine, Outstanding Cardiff etc etc As for the rest of your post, what a load of old Shyte. Wake up mate. At least your fans who made the long journey down gave your team some fantastic support as they always do at our place, and talking to some of them after, all were in agreement we made you look terrible mainly because on the night we were much better than you, playing good British football.
Hemase, I read your comments and i was not going to reply to it, but seeing you have got personal you have left it wide open for a reply. You quoted angry and stupid, yes l was angry at seeing certain players not giving their all especially when they are on huge over paid amounts of money, stupid!!! i think you need to look in the mirror my friend, who did Roofe score 2 of the 3 goals you state against, he is a light weight upfront, Grot would have been a better selection. "pay your money take your chance" this is a football match not a lottery where there are eleven players that make up a team and supposed to play as a team, that last night was not a side that will push for promotion, TC needs to be more clinical in his team selection. Berardi has had some good games at LB, but he has also had some shockers and gives away silly free kicks and penalties, we need balance in the back four and a right footed player at LB is not ideal.
You're much better than us but we might finish above you? If you meant you were much better than us last night, no arguments. Don't know about 5 or 6.. you had 6 shots on target and played against 10 men for 45 mins. But definitely well worth the win.
His discipline hasn't improved since those first four games, he is always a card waiting to happen. You were the one saying he had good games. As he has had 2 red cards and plenty of yellows for us and I said that's more than the good games he played for us perhaps you can give 3 games where he has been anything other than bang average at best. As for what joy I get, there is no joy in deluding yourself we are better than we are. I spent the 10 years doing 25-35 games a year believing we were going to become decent again. Now I want proof before deciding. The joy I get is meeting friends on matchdays especially away games. Do you get joy from watching us repeatedly fail?
Disappointing result certainly but I wouldn't swap their manager, players, and backroom team for ours.
His discipline hasn't improved since those first 4 games. Oh really? 1st 4 games: 2 red, 0 yellow. Next 83 games: 1 red, 10 yellow. Hmmm. It appears that Glory is once again presenting opinion as fact. What a surprise, eh? For such a combative player, that's quite a record. Jansson managed 15 yellows in one season! Good games? Pretty sure you have to have them to get nominated for POTY. Berra has been nominated - for the LUFC POTY in 2016, plus he came second in the YEP POTY the same year. Incidentally, both were won by Taylor, who Bera then supplanted the following season, after recovering from injury.
Just read your post Why don't you call a spade a spade why don't you Guess you did not like Cardiff game Many thanks for expressing my thoughts so succinctly
I've been honest in how I saw the game, from the moment the final whistle blew, Cardiff deserved the win but... We've had Warnock, Peltier and Bamba and I seriously wouldn't want any of them back despite yesterday's game. I wouldn't swap Berardi, Pontus, Ayling, Lasogga, Alioski, O'Kane or Saiz either. Maybe it's because I have followed their progress and I know little about Cardiff, I guess come the end of the season we'll see. Going back to Warnock, I am not a hater, I was pleased when he joined but sadly for him we had Bates in charge and his signings were a little strange at the time. He didn't work out for us
Warnock got his tactics right from the start, but if Cooper hadn't been a dick I recon we would have got something from the game.wouldn't swap our team for there's,no way and think we will finish well above them.
You want a really honest assessment? Even at 2-0 I was reasonably confident we could turn it around simply because I have seen us play really well a few times this season and knew if it clicked you would struggle. Suicide Cooper put an end to that. Your third goal was fantastic. I was more worried against Birmingham even though we beat them. That was the beginning of four bad league games on the spin. Having said that, we won two of them - sign of a good side? Maybe. You deserved to win last night and your comment about playing good British football sums your team up well. Will it be good enough for top 6? Maybe - it wasn't for us last year. I also think there are plenty of teams below us both well capable of going on good runs, early days but nice to have some points in the bag.
I agree he was a dick - both Cooper's yellows happened right in front of me. Didn't realise how bad the first tackle was at the time, but seeing it now on the vid, he was lucky not to get a straight red for that two footed lunge. The second one when he took Mendez out must have been a rush of blood. Poor decision making by Cooper and the right one by Friend. If he hadn't already been on a yellow, Friend could easily have reached for a straight red. Having said that, I don't think him going off made a lot of difference to the game. We were 2-0 up and might not have got the 3rd goal if he'd stayed on, but there again Roofe's deflected strike could have gone the other side of the post - who knows? As for who finishes the higher in the table, well that's anybody's guess just 10 games in. On the evidence I've seen, I doubt there'll be much in it either way. I will say that Warnock in his first full season with us is better equipped for the 46 games that Christiansen in terms of experience and that could go a long way offsetting any difference in perceived player quality.
Doesnt take much for some Leeds fans to start slagging the team off. I wouldnt swap any of our players for any of Cardiffs. They deserved the win, Warnock got it right but our players were like rabbits in headlights at times. Last season Warnock said Bamba was the best centre half in the league, which was bollox as we know but last night he played him as a No10 ffs & we had no answer. Hope some of those players are on bread and water today but still cant get my head around Lassoga not playing. Makes no sense as he should have been back home if not playing
Not playing Lasogga last night after the guy missed the birth of his child (actually didn't tell anyone he'd just become a father) so he could play against Ipswich, then flies to Germany and back to be confined to the bench v Cardiff has to go down as one of the worst pieces of man management ever Talk about pissing off a totally committed player
