Before I saw them play I'd have taken a draw last night. Seeing them play, I changed my mind, we should have won by a big margin. But as we keep hearing, that's football. Not a disaster and no trouble or injuries so on we go.

Firmino isn't an out and out striker. He played half the season LW creating the chances and racking up the assists. Can't both create and convert them, so I'd say 1 in 3 was very good.

 

Unfortunately if you are the main striker at a club that harbors ambitions of a title win this alone cannot be the quality one is looking for. I'd rather his first quality was being clinical and moderately hard working than the reverse. He has some inverse thing going on about him i.e. where he can control the ball in between 3 players but cannot control a simple pass with no one around him. Such definitions are reserved for your wingers and attacking mids.

Firmino isn't an out and out striker. He's not a Lukaku. We don't play with someone who's going to get 30 a season.
The goals are spread out more evenly amongst the front players and as a team we're regularly amongst the top scorers in the league.
He plays where he does because that's where he's most effective for scoring and creating for others. He doesn't have to have a recorded assist to have been instrumental in the build-up.
It's a team game.

Completely agree. Double figures for goals and assists suggests he's doing a job for us ... frustrating as he was last night ....

Can was just as poor last night, but has nowhere near as many good games as Firmino does, imo. I'm happy with Bobby's overall contribution to the team during a season.
