In the 'calm before the storm' period that we are currently in gee-gee wise let’s have another round of Pointless Horse Racing.

Here we go then, troops. I’ve given 100 knowledgeable racing enthusiasts 100 seconds to name anyone who was either Champion Trainer or Champion Jockey on the Flat, or in the NH Sphere, in Britain since peace broke out at a quarter to 8. Sorry, I’ve read that wrong. Since peace broke out in 1945.

The winner will be the person, on the forum. who gives the first pointless answer. Pilgrims, we can discount Mr Henderson as he was the highest scorer with 100 – apparently there appears no one in racing who doesn’t know all about him!

Note – The independent adjudicator has been given a list of the answers so that I can’t be accused of making it up as I go along.

In the category of jumps trainer I'll go Denys Smith, William Hall and Tommy Rayson. My least likely being Denys Smithand my most likely being William Hall. So let's put those in order
    Denys Smith
    Tommy Rayson
    William Hall

I always remember Charlie Smirk coming back on the Derby winner and saying "What did I Tulyar". Tulyar was trained by Marcus Marsh and he would be my guess for flat trainer

Surprised at Arthur Budget and Tim Brookshaw. Wouldn't have guessed Dowdeswell in a month of Sundays. I almost said Charles Semblat but convinced myself that would be a 1 or 2 as he was famous for having trained classic winners and for being British Champion Trainer without actually coming to Britain
