You're an idiot Craig and that's not me resorting to insults, I'm simply making an observation.

    Good on her
I hope I haven't offended her by suggesting she could be married to Dutch!

    1. Please translate.. What does "keep the club's identity on league position" mean?
    2. No it's not submissiveness. It would have been a way to prove them wrong and justify keeping the original name. It would have also kept the whole debate civilised and therefore more likely to be settled in a rational way.
    3. All opinions are equally relevant. I'll listen to yours whether I agree or not.
Obviously the name hasn't been changed. You won the war, but unfortunately not the peace.
    4. You seem to want to make this personal. Why don't you just resort to insults...It's a lot easier than debate.

I made a slight adjustment to my post. You'll have to do yours now, or I'm toast...

    1. Read the whole sentence, it doesn't require translation...just reading
    2. I don't think that it is likely that by agreeing to change the club's name for a trial period it would have meant that the Allams would change it back. I do accept that's subjective but there is a fair bit of evidence that they are stubborn, and also that it wasn't really about far eastern markets, to suggest that wouldn't happen. I'm interested I what evidence you have to suggest they'd be likely to change their mind on the name unopposed?
    3. I wasn't saying your opinions aren't relevant. I was saying that the one you gave wasn't relevant to your original point
    4. I've no desire to make it personal. You had already done that though by suggesting you know what my grandchild would do if City were relegated.

I've been trying to stick to your original points rather than drift into random areas.

I apologise if I made you think I was talking about your grand kids specifically. My point was that future generations of local fans are less likely to support a non-league side.

I honestly still don't understand your first point. League position and identity are two different things. I appreciate identity is important, but nevertheless sport is about striving for success and the clubs that don't have no future.

There's no guarantee the Allams would have stuck to the terms of a trial period, but in not doing so they would have undermined their position.
It's all ifs and buts, but there was a lot more chance of making them see sense by going down a route that showed respect for their ideas than to choose one that depended purely on confrontation.

Reasoning with the Allams is like reasoning with a bloke who's just glassed you.

Why do you keep rabbiting on about confrontation? The FA rejected the Allams’ proposal after due process, it wasn’t beaten out of the Allams by the fans.

A confrontation is when both sides refuse to consider compromise. A rabbit is a fluffy long eared mammal that likes shagging. <ok>

Having not seen the game or listened to it , I can't comment too much on yesterday but I liked this comment , an away point is normally good but any 87th minute equaliser , especially against a side who by most people's accounts barely got going has to be 2 points dropped , this whole division is so average I don't think home / away makes that much difference , everybody is there for the taking .
