Some people on here hate rice pudding, I love rice pudding, some people on here love stewed prunes, I hate stewed prunes, I love jazz, classical, rock n roll and country and western music, some people despise music, I love poetry, history, geography, some people hate these subjects, bristol rovers are not a favourite of mine, some people love them,I think gareth southgate is a waste of space as england manager, other people love him.

All of the things I have mentioned are irrelevant to the next person, you like them or you don't, it's your own choice, your own business, your own opinion, you should be able to express it without justification or validisation as long as you don't break the rules or hurt people.

I stated on here by choice that I had complimented lj 3 times for the last 3 games, I then by choice stated in my opionion I was still not convinced by lj although the team had improved, why this has got to be questioned by me providing facts or justifying my stated opinions I don't get, all people can state their thoughts or opinions freely and without concerns as far as I'm involved, it's a public and open forum, I fought for that in all the years I was a mod and long may these freedoms continue, to repeat as long as I don't hurt people or break any forum rules I will continue to enjoy the freedom of stating what I feel and if any individuals don't like it, tough but feel free to give your opinions any time.

I mean the man no harm, he is insignificant to me, he is just a little character, one cog in the machinery of Bristol City FC, who won't be missed if he leaves, he will enjoy fame locally if he succeeds, so far the clock is still ticking, obviously for the sake of our team I want him to get as many points as possible for us, if he does this I will stand in the queue to congratulate him.

I have not used capitals in this post to keep any importance away from the subject.

Like I said all the way through last season and the question still stands......What manager out there "that's available" would our fans prefer instead of LJ?
I personally think he's earned respect from the haters and to what many believe is not out of his depth in the championship....
RP has always said "it will end in tears"......yes it will......like any other managers job!!!

There are certainly some City fans who are so fuelled with hatred for both Johnsons - particularly LJ - that they would hope City lose in order to justify their opinions.
I wouldn't put any of us here in that category. I have seen it on OTIB though......
I personally have defended LJ many times both as a player and manager - some of the abuse he has received no human being should ever be subjected to, but I too wanted him replaced during last seasons slump. He was lucky that he had an owner who stuck with him, when most other clubs would have moved him on - but then perhaps WE fans will be considering ourselves the lucky ones if our recovery continues and we end the season as a strongly established Championship side, in the playoffs - or even dare I say it - getting promoted. I sincerely hope so - and it would prove SL a genius for sticking by him.
So far so good this season - and long may it continue.

It's not about making predictions - it's about stating what should be accomplished in order for the club/players/manager to be deemed to have done well.

If someone's boss said to them: 'I'll give you a pay-rise if you do a good job', it wouldn't be unreasonable for that person to ask 'How are you going to judge if I've done a good job or not?' If they worked in sales, you'd think they'd set a target for example, which is easily quantifiable (much like a final league position would be for a manager). If a target wasn't stated beforehand and that person sold twice as much as any of his colleagues, and then several months down the line was told by his boss 'Actually, I wanted you to sell three times as much, so sorry, no pay-rise for you' then that'd be pretty unfair in my book.

Ultimately Wiz, or whoever on here, doesn't have to answer to anyone - certainly not me. The opinion 'I don't think LJ is a good choice of manager' is a perfectly valid one - one could state that this opinion was based on the losing run we went through last season, or that he's comparatively inexperienced when measured against others in the Division. That'd be completely understandable.

I personally just find it slightly grating when someone says: 'I'll give him the opportunity to prove me wrong' without saying what it would take to do so. Even if it were: 'He needs to win the Division to get my approval', then that'd at least be quantifiable, and though I myself might debate that that was unrealistic, hey, that's part of the point of a forum right? Even if it were a bit more hazy, such as 'mid-table-ish', that'd still be better than no indication at all.

Heck, sometimes the expectations rightfully change with the times. Last season, before a ball was kicked, if someone asked my if finishing 17th would be OK, I would've probably have said 'yeah, OK, nothing special, but fine'; yet after we made our good start, I started to think 'Actually, we're doing well here - we should make the most of this unexpected situation and maybe even challenge for a playoff spot', so when we lost however many games it was and dropped like a stone, even though it was largely in keeping with my (and many other's) initial predictions/level of expectation, it was more disappointing because we had thrown away an opportunity to do better.

We're doing well at the minute, and I think pretty much everyone is agreed with that. Fingers crossed it continues and that opinions (including mine) get changed, for the better.

    8th Bristol City P8 Pts 13 GF 15 GA 10 dif + 5 W L D D D W D W
at the moment the only thing not looking good is the goals against, 10 but that is the way we are playing at the moment and it showed against Derby with 25 shots and 9 on target with 4 goals.

I have tried a number of times to work out whether they log a goal as a shot on target, so far it is 3 no and 2 doubtful could be.. ( time it takes and whether text indicates it to be a shot on target)
Assuming they don't then 25 shots and 13 on target 4 of which were goals....

this intense in your face game we are playing at the moment will hopefully get us 30 pts from our first 15 games.

It could be there's a certain risk vs reward going on, but I think a bold approach is generally a good idea (provided it doesn't descend to Christian Gross at Tottenham levels of negligence!).

I said on another thread recently that it could be argued that settling for a draw is in many ways more risky that going for a win, as a win and a defeat still means 50% more points on the board than two draws. I think Fergie adopted an aggressive approach at Man Utd based on this thinking, and whilst obviously we're not in the same stratosphere, it's hardly a bad example to follow!

I don't see what all the fuss is about , everybody is entitled to their opinion and as this is a forum to express opions is surely the whole point , it is a shame on a personal level if someone , whoever they are , stops watching the city for whatever reason, but that's their choice.

Just out of interest has anyone else noticed the change in results since McAllister replaced Pembo?

We've certainly got a bit more grit in defence now.

So to anyone refusing to go whilst LJ is in charge just pretend you're going to see Jamie Mac and you've an ligit excuse to see the team playing now. If they lose then sorry but it's your fault, you must be the unlucky charm ;)

Good point RoD. Think back to how many people were p*ssed off at Pembo leaving! I definitely think something happened behind the scenes, perhaps involving Tomlin, no idea what mind you.

JB has certainly gone to another level, may be a coincidence of course, but does seem to coincide with the change.

I hate all puddings except cheesecake and my mums Christmas pudding (which sadly will no longer be made).

I'm a savoury person myself; Chinese, Curry, Kebab, Italian, Mexican, Sunday Roast - the lot - yum - which is partly why I'm fat despite 2 gym visits and 2 games of 5-a-side every week.
The other reason is my unhealthy appetite for beer.......

On a hot day or straight after playing football yes but otherwise no - too acidic for me.
I'm a lager boy - kronenbourg or Estrella are my favourite 'mainstream ' beers but I like other premium lagers - especially the German beers.

I do enjoy real ale too but if I have a session on it I spend the next day on the bog so I tend to leave that for the occasional beer festival!!!!!!

My favourite lager's are Corrona and Italian lagers like Peroni and Biera Moretti.
There was this one I had in Venice called Dolomi I think which was lush.

Not a fan of Corona - wasn't there a soft drink brand of he same name in the 1970s?
Peroni is nice but makes me pissed quickly!
    Never heard of the other.

Yes, the pop man used to deliver it.
Glad I'm not the only one on Peroni, no idea why but it really gets me early.
The Dolomi I've tried googling it but not sold over here, but was really impressed with it in a restaurant. I think Biera Moretti is more common over here bit like a cheaper version of Peroni.
