Diagnostic 210 Carlisle refused lto but if he races this time I think as fav last time haggas must fancy the horse currently 9/4 now carries my dough so that might hinder the chances lol good luck if you follow
I would have been all over High End in the 3.05 Yarmouth on a sound surface. He should be suited by the step up in trip but as it's soft and he hasn't encountered it before 11/10 seems too risky against this lot, especially as Intellect will love the ground
This should set the old Chuckles pulse racing: https://www.racingpost.com/news/new...to-join-nicky-henderson-as-conditional/301353 A new conditional at Seven Barrows.
It’s not setting them racing, at the moment, as the coalface won’t allow Racing Post pages to be displayed – the firewall (remember that?!?) has had some effect! What’s the general gist of the story, old boy?!?
Another successful no bet. I'm getting good at this. Just need to leave off the last few words each time
Peter Bowen's 16 year old son, James, joining Mr Henderson's operation as a conditional jockey. This lifted from the article: Teenage riding sensation James Bowen is set to become a member of champion trainer Nicky Henderson's team from next month, after opting to join the yard as a conditional jockey. Bowen, who turned 16 on March 12, has been touted as a future champion jockey and it is understood some of jump racing's biggest stables had hoped he would sign for them. However, it is Henderson who has come out on top and Bowen, who has partnered ten winners under rules this term, will be joining his team from October 1. The rider's father, Peter, said: "There has been plenty of speculation about where James might be riding this season but, after careful consideration, we have decided he would be best served by joining Nicky, and will do so from October." Bowen, the younger brother of successful rider Sean, hit the headlines this year when setting a new record for a novice point-to-point rider with 30 winners in a season, including a double on his birthday. That was five more than the totals managed by Nick Scholfield in 2007 and Rhys Flint in 2008. Scholfield and Flint both went on to become professional riders.
The Bowen boy sounds a really good prospect and what a wonderful opportunity this is, for him, to be tutored by Mr Henderson. Not only is the great man a magnificent trainer of horses but also of people to boot as he is an inspiration, honest and trustworthy, a legend in the sport and an all-round good egg. He is unquestionably the ideal mentor. I’ve always believed that NH saddle monkeys are rather like buses (don’t fret if one gets injured or doesn’t turn up as there will be another along in 10 minutes) and success can often depend upon being in the right place at the right time, or in the case of one former Champion having a sugar daddy who’s got the hots for them, rather than brilliance in the saddle. I think there is, as I’ve oft said, very little between the top 40 or so riders but one who does seriously impresses me is James’ brother, the above mentioned Sean. I would expect him to replace Sam Twiston-Davies (the forum’s 2nd favourite, Sam double-barrelled) as the number 1 at Ditcheat with the next 18months as he really is a seriously good rider. Sam T-D appears a thoroughly nice chap and in many ways the consummate professional but I don’t put him in Sean Bowen’s class – and the latter is only going to get better. In the same vein on the level, where jockeyship really counts with races being won and lost by one split second decision on a far, far, far more regular basis, I really rate the Shoemark boy and can see a major job coming his way in the next 18 months. I wouldn’t be surprised if old boy Gosden, Sir Michael and Mr Charlton were all contemplating offers or perhaps another leading barn or owner might also make a similar bid for his services. Really good jockey, people.
